For windows 7 laptop users. why is my laptop slow?

I notice my lcoal area connection is disconnected? could that be a problem? notice when i type and load programs, it duplicates. it has trouble loading the images, words and etc.

Also, could there be a virus?

i check bitdefender and malaware bytes, and defender. none say no virus..

it does lag. i did upgraded my ram not long ago.

i checked my ram, still good.

so something else is slowing my windows 7 laptop down.

The intel core i7-267oqm is a mobile cpu from the sandybridge era. How come you have 24gb ram?

From your decription, it is difficult to tell what the cause is, but you would probably benefit from a clean reinstall.

The best suggestion is to get an ssd, if you havent already got one, and clean install onto that.

yeah, i have and ssd installed.

for 24 gigs of ram. im using it for gaming and such.

i was going to reinstall in my asus laptop.

but, the problems is.

it requires a disc.

when i gotten the windows 7. suppose to came with a disc and i don't remember what happen to it.

so how do i reinstall without a disc for windows 7?

as for my laptop. i got it mainly for playing old games.

So, you upgraded your RAM? Where did you buy your ram? What is the brand name of that ram? *
When you say that you "Upgraded" your ram... Did you replace it all or just one piece.

Sometimes, when just one piece out of two is replaced, it may check Good, but still not want to play well with the other piece.

It's always best, if RAM is replaced by Matched Pairs only.
I've been at this a very long time, and I've seen ram cause some really strange events.

JFYI, when I buy new ram, I buy only "Micron" Ram, from Crucial.com.
It's the highest quality, and comes with a Lifetime Warranty.

If you have two pieces (sticks) of ram, take them out and clean the edge connectors with Alcohol on a clean rag. Then replace them in the PC and see if anything changes.

To make it universal (all versions) rename \sources\ei.cfg or use View attachment eicfg_removal_utility.zip

To make a USB boot able drive:

Open a CMD window as administrator and type:

diskpart
list disk (it will list all drives. Identify the USB drive number)
select disk n (replace n by the USB drive number obtained with list disk)
clean
convert mbr
create part primary
select part 1
format fs=fat32 quick
assign
active
exit (to exit diskpart)

Use 7Zip to extract all files and folders to the USB drive

To make it UEFI boot able you must add the \efi\boot
