Does anyone know how to resolve this issue in Windows 7 please?

"The procedure entry point discard virtual memory could not be located in the dynamic link library kernel.32.dll"

I need this to work for NordPass.

Much appreciated, thank you

Apologies for the late reply. (The cold weather has affected me.)

Your link has been very helpful for which I thank you. I cannot believe that I am finding it so difficult to use NordPass that I have decided to scrap the idea despite paying regularly for NordVPN, and this year for the first time, NordCloud which I have not used and NordPass Premium which I am 'over'.

Some years ago I created a document with all my passwords and have been keeping it up-to-date as well as backing it up regularly and so far has worked well, and is secure in a safe.

Your help has been very much appreciated, thank you!

I had this exact same issue today with trying to run the latest version of Open Video Downloader. In the end I stuck with an older version that works with Win 7, however I did also find a GitHub created application for making Win 10 applications work on Win 7.

This is called VxKex and was recently removed from GitHub, rumoured to be by Microsoft but no proof of this yet. There was also a fake version loaded with bitcoin related malware, but then a new page was created with the original files and a warning. GitHub - i486/VxKex: Windows 7 API Extensions . The main setup file still throws up a malware warning as does using MalwareBytes to scan it, but this seems more down to unreliable predictive scanning AI methods, than an actual threat.

Thank you for the information. I am not sure which file I should be downloading on the Github site.

Apologies for that, on that main page there is a link to the latest version Release Version1.1.1.1375 . i486/VxKex . GitHub, and on there is the application https://github.com/i486/VxKex/releases/download/Version1.1.1.1375/KexSetup_Release_1_1_1_1375.exe

So just download and run that small program, and then when installed go to the application you want to run or install, and right click the properties for its .exe file and tick the box to "enable VxKex for this program" and click "Apply". That's it, you can now run your program.

In the following 4min YouTube video, he shows how to download and install VxKex, and then installs and runs the latest Chrome browser as an example.

There is also a similar program for Windows Vista users, who are needing to run newer software intended for Windows 10 etc. Windows Vista Extended Kernel Homepage

Proton VPN is also one that will work on 7 because they actively support it. Proton Free Tier is also good you just cannot torrent with it which means nothing for most ppl. As for password manager i don't use them so i wont recommend anything here.
