Acronis True Image 11 and Windows 7

Hi, I wonder if anyone knows..... if I can still install and run Acronis True Image 11? I have no intention of paying a subscription, maybe someone can suggest a better alternative.

You apparently can still get the free version of Macrium:

Also, failing that, Clonezilla will work on any platform. Although it takes some getting used to since there's really not a GUI. but definitely doable.

Question:

Have just changed to new computer with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OS.

My old version of Acronis is v.11.0.8101 which I used to use on Win XP Home, but although the program instals on the new computer it won't accept a Rescue Bootable Disc saying this is only for 32-bit systems.

Answer:

version 11 supports 2000, XP, Vista

I recommed 2013. Inexpensive piece of mind and supports x64 windows.

BTW, I started using Acronis True Image perpetual in 2015. Acronis switch from perpetual versions to subscriptions in 2022.

I had been using my old ATI 2017 and ATI 2018 versions since then. About six months ago Acronis reached out to the customers of the perpetual versions and offered a special one time offer to upgrade to ATI 2025 Perpetual. I upgraded 5 of my licenses to it. Note this is a special offer and is not for sale on its website.

BTW, two of my computers have a dual-boot of Windows 7 and 10. ATI 2025 Perpetual runs in Windows 10.

I don't know if Acronis would let you upgrade Acronis True Image 11 Perpetual to Acronis True Image 2025 Perpetual. If they do the upgrade cost for 1 license is $69.95. You would have to contact them to find out.

From what is being said I can deduct that if I would have trouble registering it, meaning it would install but wouldn't be able to use it am I correct?

What they were saying is ATI 11 is 32-bit only. You need a newer version if you have a 64-bit Windows. Is your Windows 7 32-bit or 64-bit?

Window's 64 bit...... I did have it installed once. I've tried on-line chat, I've tried contacting them with their on-line form I'm about to kick them in the long grass and certainly won't be recommending them to anyone should this carry on.

I don't understand why you are complaining. Acronis True Image 11 came out in 2007. Back then people were using Windows XP. 99% of those was 32-bit. I don't understand what you expect to happen. No company supports an obsolete product.

I have lost track of how many programs that I bought back then that no longer work. When that happened I just looked for a more up-to-date program that did work.

I have had several versions of Acronis True Image perpetual over the years. Each only came with a one year support period. If I wanted direct support after that I would have to pay for it. I did contact Acronis support a few times but only during the support period. After the support period ended I used the free Acronis support forum. I found several knowledgeable people there.
