My win 7 x64 machine BSOD's whenever it resumes from sleep. This is a new install with no third party applications and yes all the drivers and bios have been updated. If anyone can read the mini dump to help me with clues as to what the heck might be causing this I'd greatly appreciate it!

Without looking at the .dmp's, this setting has been known to fix the type of problem you are describing.

And if that doesn't help as the most likely first option, look into updating the bios and motherboard drivers too.

Hi and welcome

Well just took a quick look at your dmps. the cause was pretty evident. Hard disk error.

run chkdsk/f and let us know the results

KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR (7a)
The requested page of kernel data could not be read in. Typically caused by
a bad block in the paging file or disk controller error. Also see
KERNEL_STACK_INPAGE_ERROR.
If the error status is 0xC000000E, 0xC000009C, 0xC000009D or 0xC0000185,
it means the disk subsystem has experienced a failure.
If the error status is 0xC000009A, then it means the request failed because
a filesystem failed to make forward progress.
Arguments:
Arg1: 0000000000000020, lock type that was held (value 1,2,3, or PTE address)
Arg2: ffffffffc000009d, error status (normally i/o status code)
Arg3: fffffa80053467c8, current process (virtual address for lock type 3, or PTE)
Arg4: 0000000000000000, virtual address that could not be in-paged (or PTE contents if arg1 is a PTE address)

I'm sorry I should have mentioned that I did chkdsk on all drives and returned no errors. I'm not sure if this could be an issue between my intel ssd and sata controller but it seems unlikely. This is my first time running x64 also, I'm thinking about re-installing x32 win 7 which maybe has better driver support, any other ideas?

I'm sorry, I did turn off my "turn hard disk off never" because I immediately suspected that was the problem, however it didn't make any difference. Something else that's weird, the BSOD seems to be somewhat dependent on length of time in sleep, if it's only a minute or two it works fine but after several minutes will BSOD when waking every time.

Like TG said. Bios, and drivers

You had some sort of hardware failure in both dumps with 2 different debuggers. Mybe controllers. You running a raid? any other odd hardware, overclocking?

This has been an ongoing problem with Windows 7 and seems to be related to drivers. About all you can do is try other drivers or wait for the drivers to get better. In the mean time, turning off sleep seems to be the only fix.

I've actually been having this problem since Vista SP2. De-installing SP2 cured the issue, then putting SP2 back reintroduced it. After a hard disk failure, a new disk didn't help either. I was then hoping that with a fresh install of Windows 7 I would see the back of this issue - but no :(

So, for me anyway, turning off sleep does seem to be the only fix. I use hibernate instead which seems to work fine - just takes longer to wake.
