Hi all,

This has been happening for days and I have no idea what to do.

I hope someone can help.

Basically what happens is after a few hours the browsers on my main PC stop working. AOL still works, my torrent program still works, and frostwire still works.

Firefox and IE do not.

If I reboot the system everything is fine again until a few hours, rinse, repeat.

I have comcast with a linksys WRT54g router. The main PC is a wired connection and is having the issue.

The issue does NOT occur with the other PC in the network, which is connected wirelessly.

What I can't figure out is all that doesn't work are my browsers and Yahoo Messenger.

For example, Firefox and IE don't work.

However my torrent program still works, AOL (minus browsing) still works, Limewire still works. Also the laptop I have connected to the network wirelessly works fine.

When the problem happens all that doesn't work are the browsers.

I am STUMPED.

Thanks everyone for any help.

Below is a log that Yahoo Messenger made for me when the problem was occuring.

If you need any other information from me please let me know. I am quite annoyed as you can imagine.

Thanks everyone.

I'd say the torrent program is causing it.

Shut it down,. open up all your applications and see if it drops connection.

I'll have to wait until the problem surfaces again to test this out but why do you think this? Just wondering. If this is the case what would be a solution?

Thanks.

Well yes. When the problem surfaces I tried shutting down the torrent program then launching firefox and/or IE and no change.

The torrent program works fine all the time.

Let's start with some cleanup tips.

Go to Start > Run,. and type msconfig. Uncheck all boxes except for your anti-virus program.

Now you can disable some services:

Use Black Vipers Windows 7 services as a guide,. but be careful

I have the exact same damn problem and cant figure out what is causing it.
I have only come so far that i know now that disabling and re-enabling my wireless adapter will work for few seconds and after that browser activity will stop. But if i close uTorrent, and do the same thing my connection will work for some time. So at first i thought uTorrent was causing it, BUT, after uninstalling uTorrent sometimes the problem still comes up. I'm going crazy almost:)..
If anyone has any idea why 'only' browser activity stops, but everything else works, please let me know, will be grateful for ages!
TY,Max
