No internet after several hours - Help needed

Hello all,

I've had this problem for about a week (!) now and have tried many "fixes" but still have it.

I just don't get it. Everything worked fine with my previous PC, Windows XP.

I got a new desktop system running Windows 7 and this happens. <shaking head>

Basically what happens is after several hours I am unable to load web pages using IE or Firefox, or use Yahoo messenger.

Strangely AOL, my torrent program, and frostwire still work.

What I really don't get is that the XP laptop I have wirelessly connected works fine and doesn't have the issue, yes this PC which is connected with a wire to the router does. ?????????

If I reboot the system doing nothing else the issue is fixed until next time.

I have a WRT54g router.

I have tried removing Bonjour, and I have also tried all of the other obvious fixes.

Below is my ipconfig and a route trace taken by Windows 7 at the time the issue was actually present.

I'm hoping SOMEONE can tell me what to try and do to fix this as this is driving me crazy.

Have you flushed your DNS cache??

C:\>ipconfig /flushdns

I believe you need to go to Start <> Run and type cmd, Now type ipconfig /flushdns

Nope, ipconfig is in the system32 directory

C:\ is not in the environmental variables,. unless you changed yours

That is true, however, ipconfig can be run from any directory in the command prompt;

C:\ipconfig
C:\Users\User\Desktop\ipconfig
it doesn't matter, if you double click on ipconfig in system32, nothing but a quick flash of the results that you'd see running it in the command prompt.

Still have a problem

I did this and I got rid of Bonjour.

I am STILL having a problem.

The latest thing I tried is upon this last reboot I uninstalled my network card driver and upon the reboot the driver was reinstalled.

Now I am waiting to see if the problem comes back.

This is drving me bonkers!

Just do a search on here. There are several posts about it causing problems
with Windows 7. I was *hoping* it was the source of my problem but it's not.

For Windows it's usually delivered by ITunes and Adobe Photoshop

When you uninstalled Bonjour,. you should have used a freeware program called Revo Uninstaller

You can re-install it by using this program to remove leftover files and registry entries.

ipconfig is useless otherwise isn't it, don't you have to run it from the command prompt??

still having this problem. It happens right around 8 hours of up time every time, which I'm sure is a clue of some sort.
