Hello Brendan,

I am sorry, there is no way to rename a user account. You will need to create a new Administrator account, and copy your data over.

Sure stinks it is so inconvenient just to remove one character!

Hope this helps,
~Jonathan

I suggest before making any changes to a user folder, be sure to have another Adminstrative account. Things can go wrong, and often do. There have been so many people in this forum, with comments similar to I just ....to my user account now my password does not work. In fact, I have two adm. accounts. If one gets corrupt or I just cant get in, I have another. Something to think about, to help you have a Happy New Year and I certainly wish that for you. Take care.

As far as I know, you make a new account, then you cancel the first. During the process you will be asked, do you want to transfer to another account, you say yes. Everything is suppose to transfer automatically. I never did it, and not sure. If you want to try it, make a system image first.

The alternative is to use WET, Windows Easy Transfer to transfer everything to the new account.

No, there is no prompting for the transfer.

Yes, you need to create a new account, but you will need to manually copy any information from the old to the new either by dragging and dropping, or more logically, using Windows Easy Transfer. The operation needs to be done from a third account so that neither the old nor the new is logged on during the copy operation. Then the old account and the 'extra' account used to do the copy can be deleted.
