Please try a few things -
1. Log into your Live Mail account via
www.hotmail.com - make sure you sign out. The Live ID used should be the same one you use for Live Messenger
2. See if you can log into the Live Mail program installation on your system =-
START | type Live Mail
3. Run Messenger at an elevated administrative level -
START | type Live Messenger | RIGHT-click on Live Messenger - try to log in
4. Log onto a different user account on your system. If you do not have one, activate the Hidden administrator account -
START | type cmd.exe into the start search box | right-click on cmd.exe above under programs - select run as admin. Then type -
Code:
[FONT=lucida console]net user administrator /active:yes[/FONT]
Logoff your account and the user account named Administrator will be waiting for you at the logon screen.
5. Boot into SAFEMODE w/ Networking and try Live Messenger there - tap the F8 key during boot-up
