I have MacBook Pro (lastest one-Snow Leopard installed)

Using Boot Camp, I install Windows 7 build 7600 Ultimate 32 bit

What I know, I have 4GB RAM but why, in the system properties, it shows that only 2.72GB RAM is usable? Why this is happening? I can't enjoy 4GB RAM for my works (e.g GAMES ;))

Any idea anybody?

Windows x86 never displays over 3.25Gb of RAM, and it sounds like your graphics adapter is sapping the rest. If you want to see correct memory reporting then use the x64 build instead... :)

*Additional info, i also see my friend's laptop using windows 7. same results as me (2.72GB usable RAM, although 4GB RAM are installed)

Windows x86 can and does address 4Gb of RAM, but won't appear to as it under reports the available physical memory... here's one of the many articles you'll find strewn over the internet regards the same... :p

from that article, x86 architecture doesnt address that final 1GB at all, thats reserved for the IO memory address....thats memory hole problem for all x86, and not particular to any windows x86.

What is not discussed is if you have integrated hardware as on most notebooks....would the extra 1Gb be used for the IO devices....

from the OP, it doesnt look like it.....

You do know x64 still runs all your x86 applications too don't you? ;)

Not one program here which cannot be run, and I have quite a collection...

Running W7 x64 here too, without any problems.
Only issues I had were with some "older" drive imaging software programs. I've since installed alternative programs that do exactly the same job, if not better ;)
