I was in doubt that my readings were correct, so I got out my voltage meter and tested it, it was reading 11.75v so i think I am OK, not sure why the computer is reading voltages and temps wrong though.

its not too bad voltage, i got alot of vdroop and as far as i know there is no mod fix (i haven't checked for a few months)

mind you if i play around with the gtl ref lane volts i could prob get it lower but its too painful and i would have to setup a separate drive as there is alot of lockups in the process.

I'd definitely trust the volt meter over software tools. Are you having the same reporting errors in Vista? (or in Seven if you're currently reading from Vista?)

Yes it still shows the same voltage in Vista and it was still showing that voltage with my previous Asus P5k motherboard so maybe it has 2 12v Rails, I didn't test the supply to the motherboard so that may be the case.

im pretty sure the max recommended vcore was 1.3750, but your still under anyway so dont worry. sometimes my vdroop is pretty bad especially when i get into higher volts, then i have to compensate for when its under load and make sure the idle isnt too high.

what version of w7 have you found to be more stable for you? have you tried 7057 yet?

TBH, I've had issues with each build. I had a very rocky start with 7048, but after re-clocking and re-stressing it's been pretty good so far. I've only had one BSOD in a week. Compared to 2-5 BSOD's a day.... it's a victory

I've found that Seven is a whole lot more sensitive to slightly unstable O/C's than Vista.

I'm giving 7057 a miss and will just wait for the RC now.

TBH, I've had issues with each build. I had a very rocky start with 7048, but after re-clocking and re-stressing it's been pretty good so far. I've only had one BSOD in a week. Compared to 2-5 BSOD's a day.... it's a victory

I'm giving 7057 a miss and will just wait for the RC now.

i think i have only ever had 1 bsod with 7000, and it was my sound driver (wow what a surprise) but havnt seen it again. farcry2 is the only game i have troubles with but its only because of the trainer program i run with it that causes the crashes occasionally. i do get frustrated with it but its so addictive.

The same games, apps with the same OC settings were working perfectly fine in Vista but as soon as I tried the same in Seven=Crash city. After a re-check, it's been fine :huh:

Performance wise, I can't say I've noticed a huge difference between 7000 to 7048. It's more the little features you tend to notice. However it's looking like the RC will be delayed, so it's hard to say whether it's worthwhile going 7057 now or not. Chances are by the time you d/l and install 7057, a new build will be released.

And yeah, Sandra is frustrating. That's why I prefer Everest.

The only way to increase it is to overclock by raising the Bus speed, yours is currently at 200Mhz (800Mhz FSB) and if you could raise it to around 300Mhz (1200Mhz FSB) and drop your multiplier to 9 so you will end up with a CPU speed of 2.7Ghz, that will speed up all components in the computer and should give you a good increase in performance. You may also have to raise your core voltage to maintain stability.

do you know what speed the ddr3 is and what timings? i would guess that its 1066 or 1333 prob under clocked timings?

most ddr3 use 1.9volts as well so if you o.c. it make sure its at 1.9, mine is set to 1.975 and everest shows 1.94v. but double check the specs of the ram on the manufacturers website, they should show the specs and voltage needed to reach the stock speeds in case your mobo is under clocking your ram. when i installed mine it was set to auto, 1333 8/8/8/24 and the voltage showed around 1.5volts even though my ram is rated for those timtings but 1800 at 1.9volt.

Not impressed at all with my memory, 3080 MB/s. cpu isn't performing too badly I guess compared to what I've seen in the thread though, winsat cpu -compression gives me 97.13 MB/s

thats ok for 2gb ddr2 667, dont forget your 667 is really 333mhz (double data rate) eg: mine is 1800 which is 900mhz.

i would call that acceptable.
