Home Directories on Nas

Hi All,

We currently have all of our users home directories located on a NAS. A coworker and I are the only ones with win7 on our machines.

The problem we are experiencing is when we browse our network share that contains all of our users home directories, instead of seeing my name on my folder, or my coworkers name on his folder, we see "My Documents" for both folders. For all users that are using xp, their names show up fine.

Naturally, this will cause a major problem for us if we convert all of our 1500 PCs over to WIN7 and have to see some 4000 "My documents" folders in the home directories directory.

Does anyone have any idea why this would be happening? Is it a bug?

No one has run into this before?? Another weird part of this is when the directory is viewed from an XP machine, the names appear on the folder as they should...Any tips are appreciated

It sounds like you are viewing the documents folder in Homegroups instead of the Network/USERNAME-PC /Users/username/My Documents, folder.

What do you mean by homegroups?

I'm looking at the file in \\NAS\Sharename\users\ folder.. Where we direct all of our home directories to.

We are encountering the same issue - did you find a resolution for the My Documents folder appearing in the NAS home directory for your Windows 7 clients?
