Starting screen: Sometimes ugly, sometimes pretty. Why?

Hi there,
I've got a problem I'd like to solve. I've noticed that, depending on the computer I install Windows 7, the Starting Windows screen is different. The first one is a nice, pretty animation of the Windows logo, whereas the other only shows an ugly bar. So far I've installed W7 in 4 computers, and the average is 2/2. That is, 2 computers would show this pretty screen:

And the other 2 PCs, the other one, ugly as hell:

I'd like to know why this happens, and of course if there's a way to make all computers show the pretty animation. Can anybody help?

The new Win 7 boot animation screen will only appear if you have x768 screen resolution. It will not work on most netbooks as they have lower resolution i.e "1024x600" . That's why it will end up showing the old vista boot screen logo. So i assume the second pic attachment is a netbook?

That's not correct. In my particular case, the windows animation appears on a laptop which is 1280x800, and also on a computer (non laptop) on is 1280x1024. However, it doesn't appear on a 1024x600 netbook (as you said) and on another laptop that is 1360x768, but when loading it starts in 720p mode.

For your laptop which has the resolution of 1360x768, is it a clean install or upgrade?

clean install, but as I said it starts in 720p mode (it's connected to a 32" TV via HDMI); then, after Windows has finished loading, it changes to 1360x768 (the TV optimal resolution).

But anyway, is there a way to override the resolution-depending issue and make W7 show the proper one?

PS: The Laptop's own screen resolution is 1440x900 (Toshiba x205) if that's of any help.

Try this method. Go to start menu, type msconfig.exe. Under the "Boot" tab, "boot options". Is the "No GUI boot" box unchecked? If it's checked, uncheck it. Then reboot your laptop, see if there's any changes.

Indeed, it is unchecked; it was the first thing I tried before posting here.
