I had not realized there exists a possibility to ignore some posts, not to show posts from a specified member. To find this option really is a relief to me.

today i had a new phoneline installed, as i've been having major broadband problems on my old line since before xmas, and my old isp wouldn't do anything about it.

i now have a new isp and my download speed has gone up 500% and upload 800%. (yes they were really awful before!)

I only tried the ignore list myself recently and while it's useful, my natural curiosity compels me not to use it - just to see what's posted, rubbish or not. Besides, one of my test cases is no longer with us...

A little ashamed to say but the reason I put this member to my ignore list has nothing to do with his posts. They are quite OK although I have not found any deeper knowledge thus thinking I'm not going to lose anything.

I do not want to make it easy to identify this person, so I just say that I find some (really not so many) usernames repulsive and / or offending. I also do not like the way some members (again, really not so many) seem to be here only to brag and show how clever they are, even enjoying when they see the irritating tactics working.

My point is, the possibility to do so is a nice feature. So, my dear fellow geeks who are already tired to read about how much I miss my holiday making Angie, put me to your ignore list before reading further and refresh the page and this post magically disappears:

Angie is already on her way back home, started from Rome about an hour ago. Two days to go, two nights to sleep alone but then my world is perfect again!

our families are a part of who we are, it adds a personal touch to the site for those of us who have been active here for awhile now.

Nigel, your response was very well formulated. I find this ignore list better suitable for me because I understand my opinion is just that: an opinion. I think the few usernames I detest can be totally OK for others thus making ignore list perfect tool to take care of the issue.

Anyway, the issue is so small I don't even want to search for these users to put them to my ignore list; I'll just sit and wait and when I happen to see a post from them, I'll add them then.
