windows 7 was made to discourage home builders?

I have built 6 or 7 computers in my life and the last was a 64 bit Phenom with 8 GB RAM and 4 SATA drives - and ran fine. I upgrade to Win 7 and I have spent a month rebuilding this, reformatting, replacing almost every major part of hardware, even taking it to a shop, and it Blue screens on me EVERY TIME I get it running again. It may work for a day or two, or three after a real good re-build, then it starts the crashes. usually it is when I put in a video. I just bought a NVideo GTS250 with a GIG of DDR3. I have a 700 Watt PSU, a brand new mobo. 8 gigs or high end RAM, and an RME Hammerfall Multiface II audio system.

I have taken the thing apart, left the audio out, uninstalled almost every program, and NOTHING changes the damn thing.

I think it is time to switch to a MAC

I would, but the video card burned out! AFTER 2 days!!!!

I have some major issues so I simply decided to buy new RAM and a new CPU to go with the new MOBO, and new graphics card (being replaced by NewEgg).

Now maybe I should consider a new PSU???

That would indicate a PSU problem - wouldn't it?

quite so, a 700w psu will only pump out about 550w continuosly , better to go with an 850w or even better a 1000w ;)

Is RMA a diagnostic tool? You come in flaming Windows7 but do not say what 700watt PSU you have? Old units still running?

windows 7 is not the problem - I am just frustrated because I have spent a lot of time and money on this and I it has not ended!

I took the computer apart - put in another MOBO and I am running 4 GB of RAM. Each day I will add a program and then some RAM and see if I can't keep it running.

In the meantime, I have invested in new RAM and I am going to build a new computer with totally upgraded parts. If I can get this one working it will be my second computer to replace my older Anthelon computer.

As I add hardware and software, if I add something that causes a crash, I will know what caused the originalproblem.

I have talked to the local computer shop and they think my PSU is strong enough. If you have some ideas - let me know

What make and model of PSU?
Some 700 watt PSU's are absolute crap and only supply half of what they claim.

dumbararrangers, you are running 4 HDD's dont know how many dvd/cd drives, a powerful graphics card +numerous system devices, the psu has to supply all of them, do a google search for psu calculators , input all of your devices , then see if your psu is powerful enough ;)
