Triple channel DDR3 1600, running at 1066

6gb windows 7

That's a reasonable score, if it's doing what you need, then your good.

For triple channel DDR3, it could be closer to 20k.

If you want to set the DRAM speed to 1600, read up on your motherboard manual, and get some additional info as mentioned in the Show Us Your WEI thread.

First thing to try will be to change your DRAM multiplier from 8 to 12, as mentioned in the links from the post above. Your CPUZ posted snip shows your DRAM multiplier is set as 8, FSB: DRAM [2:8].

If you have any questions, you should start a new thread in Performance & Maintenance

It's triple channel DDR3.
I have put those settings back to auto in the bios after reading your post. The problem about starting a new thread is how to word it, as I'm not that good with the terminology etc,.

Nice score, DDR3 triple channel should be around 20k+, at 1600 MHz, this is a good score.

The expert tweakers here can get a little bit more.

Go back through this thread and check what people with similar specs as yours are getting.
Just remember, they have been tweaking their systems for several years, getting another couple of k's will take a lot of reading and time. High quality RAM can be OC'ed easier, as well.

Enjoy it.

If you really want to give your system a boost, start reading about SSDs.

Have you overclocked your CPU?
If yes, what settings were changed?

Have you overclocked your RAM?
If yes, what settings were changed?

Is there adequate cooling for CPU and RAM?

D/L CPUZ and post the CPU and Memory tabs.

Hi Dave,
Thank you for your reply. I have not overclocked my CPU or RAM (Not confident enough to, need more knowledge) and there is adequate cooling. I'd like some help in pursuing what could be wrong. Computer seems to run good , although it not as fast as I would like.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks..............Tom

A quick search indicates it might be a setting for DirectX accelerators.
Check the settings for your hardware accelerators.
Update the driver for your On Board ATI, if you haven't done that recently.

Best thing would be to start a new thread in Performance & Maintenance.

That's actually pretty fast! Especially for PC-6400 (800MHz)... I've got the 2x1GB Corsair kit (same as yours but half capacity) and I get around 8600MB/s. Oh, and despite what people tell you, having more RAM doesn't necessarily make it faster, it does by a very little bit, but it's not a big difference. It's based on the comparison between amount of RAM and physical size of the chips; the smaller they are, the faster data is sent from point A to point B.

Look at the post just above yours, DDR3-1333 and it scored virtually the same as your DDR2-800... Anything 12k or high is generally only seen with PC-8500 (1066MHz) and higher. Nice setup you have going there!

hey everybody here are my numbers...8GB dual channel ddr3 at 1333mhz

I would check on the RAM settings, should be up around the 19-20k range, with manufacturers recommended clock and voltage.

Should be better than that surely? Im getting 15,299.56 with 4Gb DDR2 800

Good score for your DDR2 800 RAM.

Wee bit of OC, maybe ;)
