Thanks mate, I hope it's useful to many! :)

You should expand on it to include things you should do AFTER installing your OS on an SSD drive too. Like disabling anything that routinely writes to the same place on the disk over and over again... for example, turn off event logging, reduce the page file to minimum, reboot and then remove the page file altogether, disable hybernation, etc.

@thobel: The memory subtest is skewed towards timings rather than size or clock, 7-7-7-19-cr1 should do it.

@oidicle: Lots of 7.9's out there with 4 gigs and probably lower as well.
