My memory is the bottleneck and there's no way to upgrade to faster RAM. It's running @ 1420 Mhz and the cpu is clocked to 3.59 GHz. I have to admit I had to set my laptop in the freezer to keep it from overheating during the benchmarks.
Now I've heard everything!;)

Cray used to have their supercomputers submerged in liquid nitrogen.

I use a Coolermaster HAF-922 case with the top 200mm fan inverted so it blows in instead of out. A nearby air conditioner and fan blow cool air right over that fan (see Pic).

To be fair though, that cool air isn't just for the computer. Those monitors get pretty hot too.

OCZ Z-Drive 500GB. P88 i think?
I lucked out on it and paid $300. It was donated as junk to a thrift store. An associate of mine volunteers there and gets first pick of the electronics. He let me test it and sold it to me. So far no problems at all with the Z-drive. They cost around $2K new. I'm extremely happy with it. Windows 7-64 boots in under 10 seconds. :D
did it cross your mind to make a Youtube Video :D
4k benchmark would be really great.

Lastly, enter your system at http://www.weishare.net/!

Hey, I finally got around to visiting that site. I went ahead and uploaded my score and compared it to all the others.

Mine was the only one that only had one 7.8 (CPU), with all the other sub-scores 7.9. There were a few others with overall 7.8, but they not only had 7.8 in CPU, but also had 7.8s in either memory or graphics.

I figured there were a whole lot of systems like that... with all 7.9s except for the CPU score at 7.8. But it looks like mine is the only one like that at that site.

So considering that... I think I got the best WEI score! What do I win? :D

@ErnieN: http://www.sevenforums.com/723410-post2985.html (this is an old post showing my 7.8 with all 7.9's except cpu) This is with a slighly overclocked 5870. When I moved to 5970+5870 graphics dropped to 7.8 though this is a limitation of wei.

Since your post a q9650 on ln2 has been added to wei share (overall 7.9) so I guess that's that. Extreme cooling is hard to beat. Great machine you have though.

I think ErnieN said he had a 7.8 CPU and the rest 7.9s, matching his specs to the ones on the wei share site, he's listed #4, by the numbers he should be #2.
After the guy with all 7.9s.

Yeah, I saw the Q9650 score but dismissed it as either a fluke or a cheat. My friend Jerry, who is an Intel employee who works full time in the Microsoft lab in Bellevue told me that to get to 7.9 requires an eight core CPU... and even two quad core Xeons or NHM-DPs won't get there. It doesn't matter how overclocked it is.

There are exceptions though... for example you can get to 7.9 using a i7 core 920 if you run Winsat from a beta version (build 7077) of Windows 7. This doesn't work for i7 980X though (I tried it!). It doesn't work because the beta versions don't know about the 980X CPU and can't complete the assessment.

So I maintain that my score is the best legitimate score at that site... :p

Good scores ;)

I've got pretty much the same computer, with almost the same scores.

If you shrink your windows partition to about 100 GB, it would bring that HDD score up a tenth or 2

My OEM, same as mentioned above, has an 80GB OS partition and still gets a 5.9.

It's the highest you can get with a good HDD, and no RAID.
