WIndows 7 Home Prem DVD corrupt installation file??

So I'm trying to figure out whats going on here. I have installed a brand new copy of windows 7 64-bit on my Vaio VGC-LS35E and it doesn't run well because there are no compatible drivers from Intel for my system's chipset (apparently) and other devices only have Vista x32 drivers. But the 64-bit version runs, just my cpu light is always on at 0% usage. So I wanted to switch to the 32-bit version because I'm pretty sure I'm able to use some Vista drivers that might work. Only thing is, when the setup reaches the "completing installation" phase it tells me it can't continue due to a corrupt installation file.

Thats where I'm lost. I originally installed the 32-bit version (over a crashed vista) then switched to the 64-bit version after it installed and ran fine. Only reason I decided to switch was because Microsoft's compatibility test said I could run it.

I want to run the 32-bit version, but every time I attempt an install, even a clean install, I get the same error. My hard drive does have some bad sectors, but again, the 64-bit version runs, and I've run Ubuntu 10.04 on it fine too. What can I do about either making the 64-bit version run better on my system? Can the 32-bit DVD have a corrupt file on it even though it has run fine before? If so, is there anything I can do about it?

Try a full clean & full format.
1) Boot DVD.
2) Press Shift+F10 (for command prompt)

Type in command line
DISKPART
LIST DISK
SELECT DISK # (win HD)
CLEAN ALL
CREATE PARTITION PRIMARY
SELECT PARTITION 1
ACTIVE
FORMAT=NTFS
ASSIGN
EXIT
EXIT

Okay so, everythings squeaky clean but I got another error. Code 0xc00000E9.

critical system driver missing or corrupt \windows\system32\drivers\volmgrx.sys

I tried using the install disc to run system repair, but it says it can't repair this. Any ideas?

So winodws isn't booting past this error. I ran chksdk which reported some errors in indexes, recovered orphaned files (?), and corrected the errors. Windows wouldn't start, same error message as before. ran seagate diagnostic but it couldn't finish because it didn't totally recognize the WD hard drive. Can't get the western digital diagnostic to run.

I'm not able to run sfc. I get a message saying a system repair is pending which requires reboot to complete. restart windows and run again. Of course I'm running it from the install dvd, so it won't run automatically after reboot? I'm left with the corrupt or missing driver error. is my hard drive completely on the fritz?

So then, whats the deal with being able to run other operating systems? And I'm confused as to how the 64-bit version can still run even with its quirks? I appreciate the help btw.
