Blue Screens and Random Reboots

Yes, there are third party apps that will do this. I don't have any experience with them; my mobo is so old that it does not support those apps. There are a number of folks here who use third party apps.

Time for a CPU test.

Try this free stress test: Free Software - GIMPS
Prime95 Setup:
- extract the contents of the zip file to a location of your choice
- double click on the executable file
- select "Just stress testing"
- select the "Blend" test. If you've already run MemTest overnight you may want to run the "Small FFTs" test instead.
- "Number of torture test threads to run" should equal the number of CPU's times 2 (if you're using hyperthreading).
The easiest way to figure this out is to go to Task Manager...Performance tab - and see the number of boxes under CPU Usage History
Then run the test for 6 to 24 hours - or until you get errors (whichever comes first).
The Test selection box and the stress.txt file describes what components that the program stresses.

Here are your third- party drivers:

No, disable Verifier until you are done running the stress test.

When you do enable Verifier again, use your computer normally, like you always do.

Hello !!

We might wanna find if there is any Drivers that is not verified. If it's something software this should help us finding it

Download this
http://live.sysinternals.com/sigcheck.exe save it your C Drive.

Start | CMD | Right Click and Run as administrator

Then type in cd\ then Hit enter
Code:
sigcheck -u -e c:\windows\system32 > C:\Sicheck.txt
Hit Enter

It might take a while then it will create a file under C Drive Upload that file it will give us a lit of Drivers that is not verified.

Good Luck,
Captain

Dang, any suggestions on what I should do next?

The hardware seems to be OK, I haven't manually installed any drivers yet after the clean install (except the outdated motherboard driver)

edit: the other thing I've noticed, is that sometimes my PC acts really strange

It's hard to explain it, but for example when I open the start menu and click all programs, if I scroll down and click a folder, windows automatically scrolls back up to the top, sometimes if I reboot, this goes away, other times it just remains..

Also, while the pc is in this mode, any drop down menus disappear instantly, and also I remember when I tried to enable driver verifier, when I got to the point where I was seleting drivers, the windows always scrolled up like it was stuck on the up key, so I could never scroll down as it just went back up again

Also, when you click the middle mouse in on a webpage, the scroll arrow comes up where you can freely move the page up or down, when in this mode, the scroll arrow disappears as soon as you move the mouse

I'm not sure if this means anything, but my PC is doing that at the moment

I do see that ASACPI.sys May 13 2009 is back. I would suggest renaming it while we are testing. It was NOT mentioned in your latest dmp however; but it is a pre Win7 driver.

You also have another pre Win7 driver, amdxata.sys May 19 2009. Can you update this one? I would like to at least eliminate the old driver possibilities.

I read it and I don't have an answer as to why. Obviously something is conflicting. I will take a look at the latest dmp.

amdxata.sys, update or rename that too?

The last dmp was another bugcheck A and again, it blamed a Windows system core file.

Let me research the amdxata.sys Tue May 19 13:56:59 2009 driver. I will reply in this same post.

Amdxata.sys with description Storage Filter Driver is a driver file from company Advanced Micro Devices belonging to product Storage Filter Driver.
In total there are 1 launchpoints for this file .
There are 13 different variations of the file in our database and the file is digitally signed from Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. - VeriSign Time Stamping Services Signer - G2
This is an AMD driver. I only see one AMD device on your computer and that is your graphics card. I suggest you first look on the ATI site for an updated version and then on the AMD site. As a rule, I do not recommend using Windows Update for drivers nor updating them through Device Manager. I recommend going to the manufacturers' sites.

Jason,

I'm starting to think it might even be a bad disk for Windows 7 because even a Vanilla install is causing BSOD. And you have ran all the Hardware test that came out clean. Regarding the Drivers each time pointing to different Drivers. You also wanna disable Automatic Driver Installation because often the drivers that comes with Windows Update might cause problems. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/82137-drivers-turn-off-automatic-driver-installation.html . Did you Manage to get the list of unverified Drivers list ?? Also run this Tool and Update the results http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/92394-sf-diagnostic-tool-using-troubleshooting.html make sure you right click and run as administrator.

Hope this helps,
Captain
