Startup repair cannot repair this computer

Have been getting this lately , can anybody give me the fix please , went to safe mode and backed up my files i needed ,but the pc will not start up , help me please

well, when you bought your computer and installed windows 7 you should have occasionally seen a popup saying "please make a repair disk" at the bottom of the screen...or maybe it is just the manufacturer that im using that does it

If you can't get into your windows 7 to use method one, try method two of this tutorial,

Boot the repair CD, accept any offered repair.

If it won't start boot back in, click through to Recovery Tools list to run Startup Repair repeatedly with reboots.

Next you need to use CD command line to make sure that Win7 is marked Active: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/71432-partition-mark-active.html

Then run Startup Repair again repeatedly with reboots to see if it will start. Report back.

update , i have wiped my pc with D Ban disk wipe , have reinstalled windows 7 and still getting Startup repair can not repair this computer automatically , could it be a HDD problem and if so how can you tell , thanks

Then run memtest86 CD for 5-6 passes to test your memory.

Next check BIOS version to see if there is a new update on the Support Downloads webpage for your computer or mobo model.

What is the SATA controller setting in BIOS setup?

Try clearing the CMOS: Clear CMOS - 3 Ways to Clear the CMOS - Reset BIOS.URL

Did you wipe the HD before you clean reinstalled from boot? Clean and Clean All with Diskpart Command - Windows 7 Forums.URL

If you can boot into Win7, then check the Event Viewer>Admin View and Performance - Diagnostics logs to google repeat errors. Find P-D log by clicking through WEI score link at Computer>Properties then Advanced Tools. Look also for cued issues at the top of that page and Generate A System Health Report.

Run any future Startup Repairs from the DVD Repair console or Repair CD.

checked hard drive and its fine ,iam online now with starting the pc in safe mode and networking but for some reason my speakers are not working , and iam getting windows security center service cannot be started ,any more suggestions , thanks

Did your bios reset?

Enter correct dates and info again properly - one pc i worked on had this problem & Win 7 refused to repair itself - till I sussed it!
