Unfortunately I think the "Save in" options are.. um.. unchangeable for lack of a better term off the top of my head.

Thanks, I thought for sure that was the answer I was looking for , however it didn't change anything. I set it up according to the tutorial but the "save in" links are all still the default ones. i will try to reboot see if that helps.

If you haven't got it working yet, then please go ahead and post a screenshot of your registry or Group Policy entries for this. I'll be happy to take a look at them to see what may be wrong. :)

I used the group policy editor to make the changes, I didn't try editing the registry. Should I undo my group policy changes before editing the registry or leave them?

It doesn't matter since the changes are all made at the same registry location for either way you do it.

You may have an invalid item added. Go ahead and post a screenshot of the either GPEDIT or registry location, and I'll test to see what may the issue.

Holty,

Use only MyPictures for the entry instead to see if that may work better for you.

With only one entry, you should only have that one for My Pictures and the default Computer in the places bar like below. Is this what you are seeing?

What program are you looking at the "Save As" window from? If it's a 3rd party program, then that program may not allow it.

As a test, look at the same location that I used above by opening regedit, and clicking on File and Export to see if you see the same as I do.
