Is there a way to dual boot to XP, after installing 7?

Hopefully this section is acceptable, but basically I'm requesting this because certain games obviously don't work on Windows 7. I'm really dying to try out Windows XP again, mainly for a few older games I have that won't even work with compatibility mode (Black and White 2). Is there a way, or some tutorial that shows how to duel boot to another OS after you've got Windows installed and running? I'm completely new to duel booting, so an in-depth guide would be greatly appreciated.

If you search for duel you won't find it b/c it is spelled dual....

If I may, I've got a question about the tutorial. I'm going to be installing it on another disk, the E: volume I guess, but I'm not sure what I should do with the files inside. Does it matter what volume I install it in? These are the three I have:

Since the E: drive on the tutorial was being used, I wasn't sure if I was supposed to be using it or not, and if it would work properly if I used the D: one. The "recovery" files that were there I just deleted.

If you hose something on your main OS you will not be able to restore it like it was before - sure, you can install the OS yourself from another DVD, but it will have to match the type (OEM versus Retail) for you old key to work - and you'll have to hunt down your drivers and such....

Trust me - I beta test software *and* OSs and have been doing so for over 10 years - do not get rid of the files in that partition.

That Dell Backup - not sure what that is either, but you might want to find out about it - that one *might* be able to go - and if not, then you're going to ahve to do some serious playing around to get a partition that you can install Win 7 to.

Alright so the only one left would be D:, which didn't seem to have anything of much importance.

I would first have found out what was really in D: but now that it is gone....might as well take the plunge fully, no?

I took a quick peek through, and it seemed to be just a whole bunch of files that I suppose had information on them over time. It was Norton's backups and restores (Norton came with my Vista) - nothing too important.

I agree and since there is nothing on it now he can just delete the partition and install to the unallocated space instead of a logical partition.

No, boot off the Windows DVD, and make sure you used that Disk Advanced options to allow you to delete the 77 GB partition, and then have Windows 7 use that free space to install into.

Just delete the partition and then make it a primary partition labeled "windows XP" like it shows in the tutorial.
