Hello I'm having trouble connecting to the internet through my LAN connection. It says that im in an "Unidentified Network" and gives me this auto assigned ip address: 169.254.49.252.
I have a Striker II Formula mobo with the nvidia 780i chipset and I'm running Windows Ultimate x86.
I've done the following to try and fix it but nothing works:
Disable Bonjour services
Upgrading router firmware
Reinstalling network drivers
Reset router
netsh winsock reset cmd
ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew cmds
Disable receive side scaling in advanced options on nvidia network card
Reinstalling OS

Thats all I can think of on the top of my head but there is probably more.
Here is what my ipconfig /all looks like:

Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7600]

Try right-click on the connection icon and select Troubleshoot Problems. It will disable and later enable the interface, you may do the same 'manually'.

Sorry about that.....
A crazy thought: are you sure Internet is available at the router at all? Sometimes ISPs connections go belly up temporarily. Suggestion: try connecting some other computer (borrowed laptop??)

It is most likely not identifying it as it was not setup in any of the network groups. You would need to define what group the internet connection belongs to. SO setup a new group and see if this works as I have defined above. Normally it asks you what group the connection should belong to when it detects a new connection

It looks to me like you have a working wireless connection but the wired connection is not so good.

You will want to remove bonjour completely from your system.
To fix ...
Run MsConfig

Under the Services tab uncheck the service called either bonjour or> "##Id_String1.6844[... and then a bunch of numbers]" by Apple

After that. Navigate to C:\Program Files\Bonjour
2. Rename the mdnsNSP.dll file in that folder to mdnsNSP.old
3. Restart your computer
4. Delete the Program Files\Bonjour folder

Reboot the machine then use the ipconfig /release then ipconfig /renew commands.

It's also possible that your 780i chipset got hosed somehow which can cause the eithernet connection not to work, I have the same chipset and have fixed this problem before by clearing the cmos, but be sure and reset all the bios settings to how they were before the cmos clear.
