    Sata Hotswapping

    Hey guys,
I've some question on windows sata hotswapping

I've installed Windows 7 Pro x64 with AHCI enabled.
I'm able to plug in a sata drive when windows is running, and it detects properly.
Now the problem is, how do I remove it?
None of my harddisks are detected as removable, thus no options for safety removable like usb drives.

Is there something that I'm missing?
Or I'll just have to ensure that I'm not writing/reading from the drive, and just plug it out?

    Thanks!

    No, I'm afraid not.

A search on Google may help and with a bit of luck one of our many experts will throw some light on the matter.

Chipset drivers installed? As far as I know while Windows supports the feature, it takes the chipset/SATA driver installed for it to work.

    I'm using win7's default drivers
So I'll have to install the AMD AHCI drivers instead?
should I get the one from my motherboard manufacturer or direct from AMD?
