I have laptop in which I receive 0xc00000e9 error message and I can not start Windows. First I suspected that there is some problem in my hard drive. By the way it was not starting in Save Mode or Last Known Good Configuration. So I decided to format hard drive. After formatting it on another pc I connected hard drive back to laptop and tried to install Windows 7. But I still get the same error message. I even connected brand new hard drive and still get this error message. What may be the reason? Any suggestions? Please, help me.

Error message is like that:

Status: 0xc00000e9
Info: An unexpected I/O error has occurred.

No, using only one module at a time.
If you will update your system specs it will be helpful :) .

I have changed the slot of RAM and entered into BIOS. Inside BIOS there is a bilt-in Memory test which passes without error. To be sure for 100% that RAM works fine I will test it with your software too and let you know the result.

RAM test passed. What else may be the reason of 0xc00000e9 error message?

You obviously didn't follow the tutorial, as it reads the test needs to be left running for 7 consecutive passes
or until errors are found, if were found you would have said so.

Non the less, even brand new drives could be DOA (dead on arrival).
What hard drive is it?
Is it an SSD?

   Warning
The following steps should not performed on an SSD!

Testing the HDD:

  1. Perform a Disk Check | http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/433-disk-check.html
  2. Then Post the results following | THIS METHOD
  3. Download SeaTools for Windows if you don't want to use a CD to test the HDD you can use YUMI – Multiboot USB Creator to create a bootable USB (instructions are found at the bottom of both pages).
  4. If SeaTools for Windows is unable to recognize your HDD visit HDDdiag and follow the instructions.

Today I maid RAM test until 13 consecutive passes. Now I will download and make HDD test. By the way my hard drive is SATA drive. Yesterday I made actually hard drive test with built inn BIOS software and test passed successfully.

At 99% it has been frozen. When I moved mouse it started beeping. So now I gave the same test for the second time.

This time test stopped functioning at 76%. The problem is it freezes without giving any error message. :(

That is not a very good sign, what is the exact make and model of your hard drive?

This test failed with new hard drive let me do the same test with old one also. Cause the probability that both hard drives are not working is little. I will let you know.

With old hard drive test passed however Windows installation gives the same error message. What may be the reason?

If I do not have OS may I use downloaded exe file to get system specifications? By writing it into DVD and booting from this DVD. Or this exe file works only on Windows. Cause currently I have no OS on this laptop.
