Hi,
I installed FreeYouTubeUploader and it worked fine until i closed it.
a moment later i tried to fire it up again just to get

FreeYouTubeUploader.exe - Application Error
The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142). click OK to close the application.

i did not reboot the system, can't think of something might of installed in this period of time.
running Win 7 Ultimate 32bit.

from reading other threads this problem seems to spread to other apps quickly, but so far i haven't run into anything else that doesn't work.

it does start from safe mode, which only makes it weirder.
i tried EventViewer but in the system log, it outputs the same text. it doesn't give any additional information.

i ran a full anti-virus and maleware scan, didn't come up with anything.

any help would be much appreciated.

Looks like you have a corrupted registry file. Download Ccleaner from here and install. Open Ccleaner and in the left column choose "Registry" and run that.

EDIT: just read this again and notice that in your profile you show you a running Win 7 Pro but in the post you say you are running Win 7 Ultimate. Have you just installed Ultimate?

unfortunately it didn't help.
ran Ccleaner on the registry, "fixed" all the issues (more like deleted all the bad keys), reinstalled FreeYouTubeUploader
same error.

Im running Ultimate and its not a new system.
This install is several years old and im trying to take good care of it.
I remember i first had problems with win 7, and i posted here for help, it could be i had pro then, and decided to go ultimate as a resault.

Also, my windows doesnt update automatically.
Updates are turned off. every now and then i update manually if needed. But if this problem is not explicitly mentioned in one of the updates then updating is no more then a shot in the dark to fix this problem.

Startup Repair requires the Win 7 disc, which apparently i left at my parents house when i moved.
i'll make sure to grab it when i go there...

I doubt that help though, as there is nothing wrong with the system otherwise. no startup problems or problems with other software.

It will rule out any possible registry corruption, and I wouldn't turn off Windows Updates, they will provide many stability and security improvements for your system.

i have updated windows, installed all security updates.
i tried "clean boot", still same problem.

i don't understand how come it works in Safe mode, but not on normal.
i mean i know normal mode loads tons of additional stuff, but i mean, is there no way to trace down what exactly causing it using the fact it does work on safe mode as a reference point?

I would attempt the Startup Repair as soon as possible, may I ask why you need the program? Why don't you just upload videos through the YouTube website?

i capture videos in HD, so i upload 2GB videos on a roughly 150Kb/s upload connection.
the regular youtube site is uploading much slower, and the connection usually breaks resulting in a massive waste of time.
i was skeptical at first too, but after trying it, i can honestly say its just much much faster and reliable then the youtube website upload.

so i would really want to get it back into working state, cus it seems right now i'll have to boot into safe mode for uploads :-(

Okay thanks for explaining, again there may be some registry corruption.

That is not a good idea as I think you will find that your anti virus software is disabled in Safe Mode!

Do you men that when you booted with the bare minimum services the problem still prevailed?. If so it sounds as if you may have a corrupted exe program file. Where did you download the software from (URL would be helpful) I know you have a slow internet soeed but have you tried ub installing the software completely and downloading it again
Another thought, just in case have you run sfc /scannow? See here:
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html

yes, i already tried clean boot, and even then, when there is like nothing that loaded, it fails to start with the same error.

i downloaded the software from here:
Free YouTube Uploader | Upload to YouTube in bulk mode | Best Uploader

my upload is relatively slow, but my download is pretty good.
i already tried re-downloading it, deleting / re-installing it.

i also ran SFC/Scannow, it said it fixed some problems, rebooted - nada, problem persists.
is there a way to like start it in some kind of a sandbox or an involvement emulating a "perfect" system or something?

i think i will try to do a clean boot again with even Microsoft services disabled to get as close as possible to safe mode and see how it works out.

I'm not assuming that according to the time difference between thee and me you were posting at about 4.30 AM. To me that's the midddl of the night. Then who am I to query your nightime activities? ;););)
Seriously though, I have gone back on the thread and still think that it might be a registry problem. How about this idea:
Open the registry and create a backup. Save the backup to a USB stick or ext HD. That's the insurance. Now uninstall the program. Then open regedit again and search for anything relates to the program like "DVDVideoSoft" and delete it. Then run Ccleaner again. Then re install the software.

Good news my fellow friends!
Trying to make Revit 2013 work (that program is highly unstable), i decided to reinstall it.
as it installs in like 100 little pieces in the program add/remove manager, i decided to get rid of all the other useless programs i have on my computer. the ones you download for one use, like video converter and the like. also uninstalled all apple programs (recently switched to an android phone) and basically just got rid of a lot of junk present in what was formerly known as the add/remove programs in control panel.
ran Ccleaner after that, destroyed all broken registry, and just for the hell of it tried to launch the YouTubeUploader, what do you know, it works!

now just need to get that Revit 2013 to stop closing spontaneously...

With the Revit program have you tried a earlier version?
