see attached screenshots (part 1 is the actual error code, part 2 is a log of the 10 updates in question failing repeatedly)

i've tried using the reset.cmd script linked at Error 0x80070005 in Windows Update when you try to install updates (and the blog linked at the bottom of that KB article) which nets thousands of registry edit failures, mostly "5: Access is denied". also tried downloading each of those updates to install them manually and every single one gives the dialog box "This update is not applicable to your computer", which is absolute baloney since all of them are marked as important updates in Windows Update (and yes, i did download the appropriate versions for my computer - Windows 7 64 bit)

COMODO Internet Security and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware didn't turn up anything of note (the latter turned up a few apparent non-threats under the "Potentially Unwanted Program" category, which i quarantined. can supply a log of this if needed.)

i'm installing the System Update Readiness Tool right now as i'm typing this, wasn't expecting it to take longer than 15 minutes. i'll be back to edit OP with logs of that and sfc /scannow when they're both done.

would appreciate a fix soon, as one of these uninstallable updates is a patch for the FREAK SSL exploit.

EDIT: SURT just finished and all it says is "Installation Complete". i feel stupid for asking this, but what do i do after this? (besides sfc /scannow, which i'm gonna do right now)

EDIT 2: sfc /scannow doesn't work. Windows Modules Installer was already enabled when i went to check on it in services.msc and i tried net start trustedinstaller, which didn't help either. regardless, i've uploaded my CBS folder to MediaFire. http://www.**************/download/jjjazwmg1z3mtm7/CBS.zip

EDIT 3: ^well then. is there a website you guys would prefer me to upload my CBS folder to?

EDIT 4: CBS folder on OneDrive: https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=A9D3FC38243FA9E6!131&authkey=!AC0mlcFV6OdwSsI&ithint=file,zip

Please note that mediafire is a blocked source in this forum - for good reason.
I really do suggest that you find an alternative fileshare site, unless you want to infest your friends with what is generally considered adware, at best, and malware at worst.
I have managed to access the file (I think!) - but I will not be able to complete the download until tomorrow.

Here is the link I found (munged a little... ) hxxp://download1046.**************/ck21txe7vpsg/jjjazwmg1z3mtm7/CBS.zip

OneDrive and Dropbox are both free and reliable, and neither have the massive problems of either MF or mega.

alright, i'll change up the link later.

edit: put up a OneDrive link. i'm not really sure if "view only" means you can download .zips (literally the 2nd time i've used OneDrive). if you guys can't download it let me know.
