Hi,

I can not install the following updates
2976627 – IE11 update
2976629 – IE11 update
they install then say restart to install updates, installs them, reverts them so don’t install

2977728 – doesn’t complete & fails with error 80070643
Ive tried the automatic troubleshooter from this webpage - Windows Update error 80070643
And that fixed 3 things but not 2 others – see pic
I have ran
The system update readiness tool
scandisk
sfc/scannow – no errors
The system update readiness tool again

As an aside everytime it starts up it says “you have files waiting to burned to disc” even though I don’t, and when I move the mouse over the balloon to click on it it disappears completely and doesn’t reappear until another reboot
Win 7 x64 home premium
i5-3570
8GB

TIA

You may have to search for the windows update catalog files; delete them; then try running windows update again. it sounds like something may be corrupt with windows update which could be the reason behind the errors you are getting.

If the file is too large (8MB compressed), remove the older CBSPersist cab files until the final file is below the limit - you can always post them separately after zipping them. (the forum doesn't allow the upload of bare CAB files, for a number of reasons)
