Start-Run-msconfig-boot-advanced-uncheck maximum memory, be sure to use memory remap in BIOS if you are using asus board. cheers.

Windows will see 3 gig of ram but will only use 2

I'm new here, this is my first post.

I'm not even sure if i'm in the right place. I have a DELL Workstation. I've added 1 gig of ram to equal 3 in the computer.

Windows 7 shows 3 gig of ram but only 2 gig usable.

I checked the BIOS and it also shows all 3 1 gig chips but only shows 2 gig of ram.

Any ideas
