Hello,

I manage six 64-bit Windows 7 computers in our office. All are the same model purchased on the same date, and set up by me, two years ago. Today I was checking to see that our Java was all up-to-date, and discovered that two of us seem to be running 64-bit Java, while the other four of us have 32-bit Java (the Control Panel applets are ID'd differently, and they have different menu options). How/why did this happen, and how can I get us all on the same 64-bit page?

Download Java's 64 bit version.
The java site is horrible and never gives you an option to download the 64 bit version, whenever you select a link tht says ''click here if you use a 64bit browser'' it takes you to a complete different section with no download options whatsoever.

Just look it up online, I believe the 64 bit version is available for download at CNET

Thanks for the reminder, Jacee. I've found that with Win 7, it usually uninstalls the old version of Java. However, in this case, the two computers that were running 64-bit Java had the previous Java still present, while the four computers that were running the 32-bit Java had clean upgrades that removed the 32-bit. It never ceases to amaze me how these computers, which should be configured identically since they are treated (for the most part) the same, manage to behave in different ways!
