59Hz

Windows should have an alternative to linux's "xorg.conf"

Anyone have any other ideas?

I dont want to sound like a moron that just sits and waits for someone to get an proper answer, i´ve killed my ass searching for fixes and solutions to this, squizing google to every forum, but i havent come up with something that really fixes this issue. Maybe this only happens with one kind of LCD´s, (god bless CRTs) wich by the way, mine is an HP W20.

The only thing that remains is crossing finguers and hope that this problem is fixed on final W7 build.

Cheers and thanks for the possible help. ;)

Is there any chance you could sell that monitor and get a different one? I don't know if that would solve it, but if you don't care about it that much, you should try that.

That would not solve the issue at all. I dont believe its a hardware related issue but either OS or driver issue since I have this problem as well and have different monitors and graphics card.

Why closed? ATI users (at least like me) are still stuck to massive refresh rate problems, i had to uninstall all games and apps that malfunction with this non-native resolution, it was driving me crazy! And it still annoys me to drag windows and see the refresh artifacts everywhere.

Now, i hate to say this, but RTM is closer and closer and i can picture myself with a bought final build in my computer, and still having the problem. Now, and only now i hate vista because Windows 7 is guaranteed as a big step forward, but work and other stuff are forcing me to downgrade it.

Remember retail isn't until October. If you're planning to buy Windows 7, and don't have access to it via Technet, Connect or MSDN, then you won't have to worry about it for 3 months+

Well, if you (both) have red my previous posts, you would know that in Vista and Xp this problem was solved after the beta-state ended, so i never had this (im saying "i" but i know a ton of people stuck with this), and im not seeing why should i change this screen.

@swarfega: You´ve red that stuff ( 59.94hz. still means nothing, its not stated 60hz like it was previously) in this very thread, you need to defrag your memory, m8 :geek:

I now remember this issue didnt occour to me on the first W7 betas i´ve tryed (7100, i guess). Maybe faulty drivers..

59.94 was me. Again. Please folks, it's all your monitor's fault. Contact their tech support OR create an override INF per my instructions. For more info on WHY 59.94 (or 60/1.001 exactly) see NTSC - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

well i have a question, does the 59hz make it look funny? act weird? bad screen margins? cause if not, and i don't want to sound rude cause it's actually a really good way to run computer things from what I've learned.... if it's not broke, and it works fine, don't fix it ;) lol just be glad it's working but if any of the questions have an answer, such as it's acting up in a way that's hindering your screen < eyes then fix it =( try getting a refresh rate over ride tool. nvidia can do that I think, just do a fixed rate or a custom.

Again, i´ve said in previous posts that this did NOT happen somewhile ago back in 7100 W7 or any Vista/XP build. I know about 60 being the 59.94 (and i overrided the HP inf too, as many people did it with no luck), but if so, why doesnt the monitor proprieties state 60hz like it did before?

Ps: I wouldnt aprove about people advising to change screens, someone can actualy do it without nowing the mistake....

The only way i can get my refresh rate to stick at 60Hz is by selecting the option "reduce DVI frequency on high-resolution displays" via the ccc DVI settings. Upon reboot the only available refresh rate is 60Hz and DXDIAG confirms this!
Res 1920 * 1200 @ 60Hz, monitor: Samsung SyncMaster 2443bw,
If there is such an option via the Nvidia control panel give this a go
Hope this helps someone
