Here are some instructions to make life easier :)
1) To open an Elevated Command Prompt Window (the ECP window), click on Start, All Programs, Accessories – then right-click on Command Prompt, and select Run as Administrator. Accept the UAC prompt.
2) To run the commands easier, highlight the block of commands, and right-click on the highlight – select Copy. In the CP Window, click on the black/white icon at top left – select Paste. The commands will run but may not complete the last command, so hit the Enter Key once.
3) To copy the results... click on the Black/White icon in the top left, and select Edit... 'Select All', and hit the Enter key - then use Ctrl+V or r-click+Paste to paste it into your response.

I don't have an HKLM\test key path. Is that okay? Did you mean for me to query a registry key that I actually have?

I think I see where you're you're going with this. I did run the queries one at a time and they each returned "ERROR: The system was unable to find the specified registry key or value".

I missed a couple of bitflips somehow....

I've zipped the repaired file and uploaded it again - at
Noel's SkyDrive

filename is dfcac.zip

Please download and save it
Extract the file to the default location - this will create a new folder dfcac in the same location as the zip file, with the COMPONENTS file as the only content.

Open an Elevated Command Prompt and run the following command
REN C:\Windows\System32\config\COMPONENTS COMPONENTS.OLD2

then copy the new COMPONENTS file into the C:\Windows\System32\config folder - reboot and run another CheckSUR scan - post the new CheckSUR.log file.

I see dfcaa which might be the previous fix you engineered for me, but I'm not seeing dfcac. Maybe you forgot to make it shared.
