hi mrobjo, its a cheap and cheerful PSU it will run the 7600gt easily , but are you limited cash wise , could you not afford to go a little bit better on the PSU , a good quality supply will reap benefits in the future

Hi thanks for the reply,cash is a bit tight unfortunately,so could not really afford anything better.Am also buying the graphics card,to get the most out of my ageing pc,have found the graphics card quite cheap Inno3D 7600GT 512MB DDR2 DVI VGA Out AGP Graphics Card | Ebuyer.com kids want to play some better pc games,but obviously not many graphics hungry games.But i would appreciate any psu recomendations you could make,so at least i could consider a better one.thank you

Will it power a 7600 GT, the 17A on the single 12V rail should be enough. One thing I can tell you is that it is not a 500W power supply. With the specs on the label of it,



you would be lucky if it is a 300-350W power supply.

I may be able to stretch to about £30,i do want a psu that will do the job,and not one that could let me down,there are alot of different ones to choose from,the problem is i dont understant about the the voltate,amps and rails.thanks

That one is an even bigger piece of junk than the first one you linked too. The problem with most cheap/bargain basement power supplies is that when they go (some don't, but an awful lot of them do) they have a very bad habit of taking other components with them (usually the motherboard, video card, memory, you name it) as they have little to no over-voltage protection in them.

That being said if you can stretch it a few more ££, then something like this,

should do.

P.S. Would help to know what the rest of the system is.
