Hi,

usually i have used WinRar to pack my Data.
There I can also add some recovery data to to get aa more robust file.

Now I tried 7zip and im also very happy with it.
But I'm missing the add recovery data featue.

Is there one?
Don't find it on the GUI, but maybe with the parameters.
Does anyone know?

7zip format does not support recovery records.

Given the lack of recovery data, the other thing to consider about a 7z file is that if the archive is corrupt in such a way that the file is still readable you can actually lose up to whatever the solid-block setting was used to create the archive.

The only way to create a robust archive with 7z is to turn solid off. That way one bad checksum in the archive only affects that file. Unfortunately, compression ratio is likely to be badly affected doing this.

Indeed, adding recovery data is not supported in 7zip alone, BUT you can get the same feature using 7zip with Parchive.

That does not realy sound good.
Is there another good and free alternative for doing "all" with one Program?

Coudn't that be integrated within 7zip?

If you like 7z like I do you could always make QuickPar recovery volumes for the archive's like they do for usenet.

QuickPar for Windows

It's actually one of the best recovery softwares out there and it's free.
