if you could kindly fill out your system spec in the bottom left hand corner of your post.

it will help us identify the issues.

2 spring to mind for a start. 1) youve installed 32bit version of windows instead of the 64bit

or 2) your using a system builder/OEM version of windows and didnt do a clean install, and this is an odd side effect.. as normally youre unable to change major components such as the mobo.

everything went fine, as I said the processor was recognized in the bios, then windows installed all new drivers immediately and no hardware problems..

except I think I just found out what the problem is. The used part looks damaged. I think the card is being read and displayed as functional in the bios, but it is unable to be used because a few of the metal pins are damaged...what do you think? I filed dispute and hope to get a refund for this mobo..

You should be able to magnify to see better

I would say yes to the bent pins most iikely. Anytime you have bent pins on a system board or a piece of system hardware; its not a good thing because there really is no "easy" way per say to rectify it other then to replace the part entirely. Now, when it comes to these pins; there are people out there that specialize in fixing motherboard connectors etc.; so it might be worth it to see if you can get hold of one of them as they may be able to carefully get the pins back the way they should be.
