Access Restrictions with Windows 7

I have a Windows 7 64-Bit system on which I was the only user... until yesterday. I've created a new "standard" second user.

In the past, whenever I've installed software, I've always chosen the option to "make available to all users" because I was the only user on the system. In hindsight, I probably should have installed software only available to me in case this scenerio developed.

My question: Is there some way I can remove access to some of my applications by the new user I've created?

Hello Nick, and welcome to Seven Forums.

There are a few options, but it depends on what edition (ex: Home Premium, Ultimate, etc...) of Windows 7 you have for which options you may be able to use since some editions do not include group policy. If you could let us know what edition you have first, then we could give you better suggestions that would work for that edition.

That's perfect then Nick. You will have all options available to you.

You might see how using AppLocker to create a new Executable Rule to not allow specific users to be able to run specific exe files (step 14 in tutorial) may work for you for this. The tutorial below can help show you how with more details. This option is one of the easiest ways I can think that may work for you.
