Advice on installing Windows 7 on new SSD

Hi All,

i am going to be installing Windows 7 on an SSD tomorrow. I have lots of experience installing Windows on mechanical HDD's and am assuming that by and large the process will be the same for an SSD.

I want the SSD to be the OS drive and then i will be attaching a 3tb HDD as storage and Steam games drive.

Any advice on anything i should do for trouble free installation?

Its quite straightforward - physically disconnect the 3TB HDD - install Windows 7 exactly as you would on a standard HDD. Once rebooted, reconnect your 3TB HDD. Nothing to it at all.

i will clean install the OS as at the moment i have a triple boot setup and am going to just have Win7 on this particular PC.

Just make sure all other disks are physically disconnected during the installation. Else you may end up with the bootmgr on one of the HDDs.

And after the installation you have to adjust the boot sequence in the BIOS to set the SSD as second - first should always be the CD/DVD drive.
