Did you download AdwCleaner from this site? AdwCleaner by Xplode and save to your Desktop.

I have been using the above site and ticking this.
Good or Bad?

Yes, nothing has changed.

As I said before it was after downloading from there, it would state it was out of date.

Clicking the OK as shown in John's screenshot to get the newer version would direct to a different site.

Why? I don't know. I was just pointing out what happened.

My guess would be a delay in updating the new version being linked on Bleeping Computer.

Don't know Derek the machine has gone ape over the last few days BSOD's I cannot find etc Anyway am setting up fresh with the original Pro version from the ISO I saved

So all is well.

As long as all is well. Carry on.

There are no bugs, it was just that the Bleeping Computer link at that time was still offering a previous version, which is no longer the case.

When running that previous version, besides the unsigned software warning,



It would pop this dialogue up,



Clicking OK on that directs to,

https://toolslib.net/downloads/viewdownload/1-adwcleaner/

Which is apparently coded into the program.

You forget I'm paranoid.
What I want to be sure of is the new version once installed has no problems.
I know mine is outdated and I don't care if their is a pop up.
I can deal with a pop up.

What I do care about is if the new version is having problems other than the damn pop up.

That is my concern.

Does the new version cause any problems?
I do not want to be recommending AdwCleaner if the new version is having known problems.

Hi all
I installed the latest version of adwcleaner and now its messed up my IE
when i launch IE it pops up saying IE isnt working then it shuts down.
Was working fine before i installed the new version.
Can someone help me ?

Well your initial concern was about the link,

Okay I'm discombobulated.

Someone just post the proper site or sites to download AdwCleaner.
I'm getting a head ache and I have been out of Old #7 for a week.

As for what the OP experienced, I didn't have the same experience they did.

It seems a system restore fixed whatever that was,

Ive done a system restore. Seems ok now

The "damn popup" was first mentioned by ICIT2LOL and my posts were just adding that I also got the same thing.

Its possible there was a bug in this routine causing that alert or we were hosting an older version.

Xplode has a mirror here that he uploads the latest version too, its possible he forgot to upload the latest one for a few days. Will look into it.

Right now we are hosting the latest one, so he must have synched it up.

Yes it was really god to know what was going on because not only has my IE11 crashed seeing the toolibs link up had me thinking reinstall
