AERO?

i have got win 7 ultimate build 7600 on a hp pavilion a309.uk
256mb ram
intel celeron 2.40Ghz Processer
intel 82845 graphics controller

and i got win 7 by disabling the installation files in this tut - http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/20967-install-windows-7-computer-less-than-512mb-ram.html

and before i had this i had vista with 512 mb and my ram messed up so i got 256mb ram but while i had 512 mb ram i could force aero to work but now it doesnt work when i force it, i think this is because i modded the installation files to enable it to install with 256mb ram

It isn't because of any modding you did, it is because of the changes made to the driver model in Windows 7 and the fact that the 845 chipset is unsupported (it also doesn't have the necessary hardware in it). You may have been able to hack/mod it to work in Vista, but it won't work that way in 7.

It propably has to do with the fact that you have only 1/4th the minimum RAM for Windows 7. Not to mention the old graphics controller that doesn't even have Vista drivers and was never considered to support Aero features.

EDIT - i ran the aero troubleshoot thing and it sed your graphics may support aero please contact manufacturer for update

wat does ur graphics score have to be in wei to auotomatically enable aero myn is 1.9 i think it 2.0 if it is reply

945 is the lowest card that supports aero. And no, nothing can turn on aero for unsupported cards in win7.

Won't matter what the WEI score is with that chipset,

Graphics — Older Intel® graphics controllers and Windows Vista*

and as already said even less with the additional changes to the driver model in Windows 7.

Not everything can fixed with a registry tweak or by patching a file. Some hardware just can't do it. the best you can do is get the latest driver from here: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Sea...ductProduct=Intel®+82845G+Graphics+Controller

Turns out, there is a Windows 7 driver, but I doubt it will change anything.

i was wondering if sum1 cud make a visual style either black or dark blue the had minimize/maximize buttons like these


only because i have windows 7 starter so i want a aero feel and i want the frame blended and shaded like in the image

Starter doesn't come with Aero. Good you found an alterative, but Aero just isn't happening.
