One of my co-workers is having issues with windows updates on his computer. Since I was able to get help here earlier in the week for an issue I had I figured I would post on his behalf.

It has been going on for a couple of months. All of his windows automatic updates fail. Each giving a different error code (I can get them all if needed). I've attempted to read through some Microsoft forums and attempted all of the "fixes" I could find to no avail.

I've run the readiness tool and SFC and attached the logs to this post.

Thanks for any help.

I'll post a fix protocol a bit later.

I've uploaded a file - bvpaa.zip - to my SkyDrive at Noel's SkyDrive
Please download and save it.
Right-click on the downloaded file, and select Extract all…
Extract to the default location - which will create a new folder bvpaa in the same place.
Open this folder - there should be one folder inside it ( Packages)

Copy the content of the Packages folder to the folder
C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages

Now run the CheckSUR tool again (it may take a while)

Post the new CheckSUR.log file, and the CheckSUR.persist.log file.

They failed again. Each with a different error code. I'll try and get the error codes. My co-worker is currently using his PC so it may be a little bit.

Sfc/scannow said "no integrity errors"? If it did say integrity errors... run it again. No integrity errors?
system update readiness tool... run it again. checkSUR.log reports no errors anymore?

All above should be fine, I expect from previous actions.

Is service "Windows Update" started? If not... startup type=automatic (delayed start)? Can you start it manaully?
Same question for service "Background Intelligent Transfer Service"

The log is now clear :)

Please attempt to install any remaining updates, and if any fail, quote the exact error messages you get.
