AlphaXP and Windows 7

I have this little program called AlphaXP. It makes all those annoying little tooltips that pop up all the time in Windows and can't be gotten rid of for some reason, transparent, effectively getting rid of them. It's the best $15 I ever spent, but for some reason it does not work in Windows 7. I've been using it since the Win 2k days through 32 bit Vista. It's never failed, but they changed something in Vista 64 bit, which seems to have carried over to Windows 7, where I can't get get it to work, either x86 or x64. I tried compatibility mode, disabling aero, messing around with the user account control, etc., but I can't get it to work. Needless to say it's beyond my ability. Anyone got a guess as to why it doesn't work or better yet, how to get it to work? Thanks for any help.

Probably because of the fairly radical new GUI in Windows 7.

Would not Vista have been more of a radical redesign of the GUI over XP as opposed to Seven, which seems to me to be more of a refinement of Vista. As I said already it works fine in 32 bit Vista, but is a no-go for either 32 or 64 bit Seven. Thanks for the reply.
