AMD Radeon HD 7850 Crossfire BSOD

In addition, I just found out I'm doing fine on this new graphic card if I don't run the game(Aion) on its High Quality Graphic Engine. I ran GPU monitor on both Normal Graphic Engine and the high quality one. As you can see in the attached logs, the first one looks stable. But for the second one, the GPU temperature goes high really fast. It didn't cause crash, but I shut down the game clients because I was afraid it would burn my VGA. This is abnormal I guess. I didn't do anything about overclocking except setting GPU fan speed to 100% since I had already noticed the abnormal temperature. (Maybe this is because the VGA is already damaged?)

Even so, I don't think temperature would be the cause of my crash. Because the 7850s crashed when the temp was around 50. I think it has something to do with my motherboard or other hardware that might damage my VGA?

this new desktop already drive me crazy. If it can't be solved, I think Ima just use the VGA onboard and say goodbye to high quality graphics in game.

My guess is it is either a motherboard or PSU issue if everything worked fine with the onboard graphics. Unfortunately, both of those fall into the impossible to debug via internet troubleshooting categories. The best way to test them is to swap out your PSU for one that is the same wattage or better. Your PSU definitely should be fine assuming it is working properly, but if it is not working properly, that may be the reason for your problems.

Any friends/coworkers/classmates available to borrow a PSU from?

If another PSU that can handle your hardware does not resolve the problem, it is most likely a motherboard issue.

I think I might know what causes the crash: voltage. Looks like every time I play high quality graphic engine, the voltage exceed certain level (1175 for GTX 670), that can crash the card. Now I'm worried that there's short circuit somewhere in my PC. Could be the hardware themselves or I have done something wrong while I installed.

I will try to find a PSU to test. I will also try install the PC again.

I have a bad feeling that the VGA is already damaged. If that's the case, I don't think the PC store will allow me to do refund / swap for another.

If the VGA is damaged and it shows no visible signs of it, you can probably RMA it through the video card's manufacturer.

Check all your connections first, as you mentioned.

As you add and remove hardware or check hardware connections, follow these steps for ESD safety:

1. Shut down and turn off your computer.
2. Unplug all power supplies to the computer (AC Power then battery for laptops, AC power for desktops)
3. Hold down the power button for 30 seconds to close the circuit and ensure all power drains from components.
4. Make sure you are grounded by using proper grounding techniques, i.e. work on an anti-static workbench, anti-static desk, or an anti-static pad. Hold something metallic while touching it to the anti-static surface, or use an anti-static wristband to attach to the anti-static material while working. If you do not have an anti-static workbench, desk, or pad, you can use your computer tower/case by finding a metal hold in it, such as a drive bay.

Once these steps have been followed, it is safe to remove and replace components within your computer.
