Just installed the new XWJVH 2.3.3 for the SGS

Samsung seems to have gotten this one correct!

No call delay bug
No buttons remaining backlit while the screen is on.
Great battery life

Getting a bit bored though. I need to build up the courage to flash CM7

CM7 is good. Go for it. There's a GRJ22 version being developed as a nightly for the Desire at the moment, so there should be a 2.3.4 version of CM7 around soon.

Also installed Clock Sync app. Some clocks on some ROMs become quite out of sync over time, and this app can keep it synced quite accurately.

Don't think this is 3.1. As the keynotes here Live from Google I/O 2011's opening keynote! -- Engadget shoes Honeycomb 3.1 was announced as well.

It's just going to be Gingerbread and Honeycomb combined in to one, which makes more sense to do instead of having two different streams.

3.1 seems to have a whole new GUI as well.

Hi Android Lovers,

I'm planning to upgrade my device. I have 3 devices in mind which I can't decide.

Sony Ericsson Arc
HTC Desire HD
HTC Incredible S

Xperia don't have a great reputation but this device looks promising
Desire HD is a little old device that camera and sound is crappy
HTC Incredible S is good in all aspects but XDA couldn't root the device yet

Any suggestions ?

Arc - Great design,performance not so good.
DHD - I really like this phone,I don't know why its so special for me... Good performance,and also I like the design.
And for the HTC - It seems to be a very nice device. I don't know about it because its new,but I'm sure that guys from XDA will root it.

Thanks for feedback! Incredible S's HBOOT is pretty tight they been try it for like 2 months. Apparently HTC is gonna use that same HBOOT in HTC Sensation. So even if they find a way root they will not release until HTC Sensation comes out.

There's a small group of guys working on rooting the Incredible S, which I'm sure they'll release when they've done it. There's a hardware root method, it's just trying to get a software root method working.

Yeah .. I read that thread about Incredible S in XDA forums. Also read about hardware root XTC Clip. But it's not available in India and it's really expensive. I went through Desire HD thread there are lot of custom ROM's out there. They also have a working ROM with Sense 3.0.

Developers almost gave up Incredible S in XDA forums so went and bought Sony Ericsson Arc. Man it's a beauty and great performance. Found something interesting is Sony Ericsson developers are helping XDA developers in making custom kernels in a thread there Building the Linux kernel for Xperia phones - xda-developers .. it's great thing what Sony Ericsson doing.

Maybe they will unlocking the HBOOT when they start to lose customers. They are using 2K encryption for HBOOT. Takes months to decrypt on a Super Computer

Quad Core sound interesting ... Let's wait and see
