Annoying pop ups

Have just suddenly got these annoying pop ups when I post stuff for instance if I type install or backup that shows up in blue in my replies and click on them and it is an annoying ad for some wretched thing or other.

Anyone else had this happen please?

Yes, it should always be on high. When a popup is ecountered ( big word here ) you then have the option of allowing a popup by clicking the box at the top of IE. You will see it the next time you have a popup.

No mate I just haven't had the need to muck about with that before. Anyway ask anyone who knows me I am just a tad eccentric and well how I got to be a GURU is beyond me cos I aint the sharpest knife in the drawer when it comes to those sorts of things I am more of a nuts and bolts person

Actually that doesn't work the pop ups show up as Coupon Companion whatever the heck that is

Yep thanks to you AddRAM we must have crossed posts because I just found what this annoying thing is as the edit to my previous post.

Just found it it sits in Programs and Features I reinstalled my security today for an upgrade and had to uninstall other security stuff to prevent any problems and then reinstall them again so it has crept under the radar and usually I am fairly careful with those creepy things.

Maybe it`s from something you downloaded and installed ? That`s sure what it sounds like. You gotta watch all the checkboxes when you install software. When did it start happening ? Look in control panel> all programs for any strange software.

Yeah mate I am as I said usually very careful with those tiny tick boxes and I don't know if you have noticed they are making some of them really quite a pale grey in colour and thats how I think it got missed.

If you ever get the wretched thing it is called Coupon Companion and yep sits in Progs and Feats.

Anyway thanks for your concern - us lowly low count yellow dots have got to stick together eh - been on one for ever until just recently - not that it means much to me. I reckon you can always pick the good guys without the bling
