Any digital camera shooters?

I would have said photographers but many get their undies in a knot when someone calls it digital photography and others call it digital fauxtography but I still think it's the eyes behind the camera that makes the image.

After all that, my question is what do you shoot for camera(s) and favorite subjects, thanks............

My wife does, I play with it some. We have a Canon Rebel T1i which is a nice budget SRL.

I'm just an amateur, with an old, low-end point and shoot....Nikon Coolpix L11. Best place for me to shoot, is at the lake my grandmother lives on, an hour north of me in the Adirondack Mountains.

The same scenes can look different within minutes, depending on the weather's effect on lighting. Recently I was out in the boat with my father, and we are pretty sure we saw a bald eagle, carrying its prey, but we couldn't get close enough to it to snap a picture. We followed it around, just idling the boat, but it would fly on to another spot each time we'd start to get close....and when we finally decided to open the throttle to try and get close, the sound of the 351-cu. inch V8 in the boat scared it away, and it turned and flew inland.

Have to try again another day!

For the last few years I have used an Olympus Evolt 500 8.0 MP. Take lots of family shots (10 grandkids). I retired four years ago, got a Travel Trailer and done lots of traveling. Upward of 5,000 pics so far. In the past I had (and still have) an older Olympus SLR 35mm film, but this digital is so much better. I can now take lots of extra shots and curl out the bad ones. A lot cheaper then film. A lot easier to share with friends and family.

I do a bit mainly the grandkids or the cats.

I have a Vivitar 6324 and also an Olympus C-1, which is the first digital camera we brought, back when they were just coming out.

It cost us about £300 and is only 1.3 megapixels whereas the Vivitar is smaller and 6.0 megapixels and cost just over £70 a couple of years ago.

Wow, great replies! noobvius, you shoot similar things like I do, I was heavily into shooting raptors when I was at my camp, now that I have been homebound the past 2 years I do birds, insects, frogs and general things around home but if I get feeling better I hope to make it to camp. I shoot 2 Nikon dSLR's a D3 and D3x and my astrophotography camera is an Olympus C5050z that attaches to my Celestron 8SE with GPS interface but again have not had the strength to move it around the past 2 years. Keep the posts coming....

My bride has a Nikon D70 with a variety of lenses. I bought for her when I was going bankrupt from developing her 35mm film!

She shoot mainly nature: sunrises, sunsets, wildlife - particularly raptors, deer, foxes, and rare birds - and grandchildren.

I use it a little bit to shoot motorcycles, autos, and nature.

fishnbanjo, my sister has a Nikon D90, but she won't let me touch it (of course, given what they cost, that's probably just as well). Then again, I probably wouldn't know what to do with something as advanced as that.

The only thing about my little 6MP point&shoot that I wish I could change, would be that it only has a 3x optical zoom....and the digital zoom, at least on this camera, really sucks. So if I am trying to get some wildlife in a shot, I really have to try and be sneaky-quiet to get close enough....and I'm not as nimble as I was 40lbs ago, so it's not easy.

I loved my D70 it gave me confidence after a long hiatus from shooting, when I purchased my D2x and got by the steep learning curve of that camera I sold the D70 to a friend and he, and his bride, are having a ball with it, great camera.

noobvious, I still have stealth in the woods even with my illness, when I deer hunted I was so invisible I had deer walk to within 4' of me and not figure me out, took a lot of effort to stop myslef from shaking.

Great photo! No matter what the prize was the real prize is the photo itself!!

Here's one taken from the boat the day we saw the bald eagle. All I did is resize this with Irfanview to be forum-size friendly. I think a lot of my pics are more due to my being in the right place at the right time than anything else, because I really don't know what the heck I am doing.

I think that the argument that digital is not "real" photography has pretty much completely died for anything other that very large format. FINALLY

Sorry but composition is in the eyes and the eyes tell the brain what it see's, you see pretty well sir.
