So, what makes this Saturday night different than any other Saturday night? Other than some new fangled vaping mod.

I got pizza.

Well said Night Hawk. Ran to the store to grab some meat to grill so I decided to grab some more Bavarian Cream since I'm out. They told me I could have a free 10ml to go with it. Went for Colonel Crunch, it taste like Captain Crunch cereal...I love it

Well you did get discounts. I forgot to mention, I lowered my nic level to 16mg. Working my way down. I've been mixing to get 14, then going back to 18. It seems to have leveled off where I'm good with a little lower

@Doug, if you switch to one of these Atlantis tanks you need to drop to 6MG, 18MG is brutal and can make you feel sick. I think you get so much more vapor at 35W so you get more nic delivered at the same time.

I have 230ml of 6MG being delivered next week. I have a small bottle of 6MG to use for now.

I get freebies quite often usually with the first online order from most vendors as well as when placing a larger order for hardwares. Some will toss in candy like a bag of Twiddles or one lately threw in a lollipop I passed along to a friend's kid. That's usually an incentive to see return business. The vendors want to leave a good impression.

Here I have been trying a wide range of flavors while the primary will still be with menthol. I just had my usual friend add a lessened amount into a tobacco-rum-coconut flavor to get more of something new to be able to vape some of his other tobacco flavors. Another vendor had Strawberry Ice with Strawberry/menthol being the blend. Then there's Maple Cream, Apple Pie, Cranberry/Pomerate, etc. endlessly seen increasing numbers of flavors as time goes along. :D

A freebie is always good Doug. I didn't get any with all the stuff I ordered

You will sooner or later! Even in the middle of the summer I get a small bottle or two tossed in like when ordering one or two new flavors from one place(Dark Roast Coffee and a Kino Coffee) I ended up getting a freebie for a grape drink and one other coffee flavor since that place was mainly an ejuice vendor.

Well heck, they've had those things for years...

Nothing new there! Other forms of vaporizers have been around for decades while electronic cigs first saw the Chinese market place a decade ago. Are you familiar with Vick's Vapo Rub and cough medicine as well as hand held inhaler?

Vick's Steam Inhalers have been around for generations now where you slap in some of their vapo rub and watch it melt down and turn into a steam vapor. As a kid my mother had me and an older sibling inhlae from that when we came down with some rotten chest colds.

Looks like a beauty Bill, not so easy to take down the pub though :D

Gee noticing the actual effect of nicotine when turning up the watts a little? This is what most never seem to be aware of is that nicotine in vapor is a waste of time since the most it does is change how you perceive a particular flavor usually making it vape warmer. To actually absorb an equal amount to what you get from smoking a regular tobacco cig the nic level has to be brought up to about 50-60mg and work it's way upto 120mg according to the best studies.

This is mainly due to how little nicotine is absorbed into the system from vapor compared to how much you get from smoke as well as the tar and thousands of other chemicals and additives the companies used to spike tobacco products with. The friend who started his own business was telling early on that he noticed that there didn't seem to be any difference whether an ejuice did or didn't have any nic in it with that coming from a former 4 pack a day smoker. I then made my own comparisons and had to admit that he had hit it right on the mark about that before seeing the material on nicotine.

A good report on this can be found at: How much nicotine is absorbed following electronic cigarette use?

Thanks Paul.

Do most of you use watts or volts on your mods? I started with watts, but switched to volts. The volts go in .1 increments, but watts do .5 increments on mine. To me it seems better to use volts to try different settings.

As for volts vs watts the preferences are different over time for each person as far as sticking with VV batteries and/or mods, APVs or turning up the watts. For cloud maker mods now being seen as you turn the watts up the voltage is automatically adjusted on many of the latest high watters. The latest Vamos are no longer seeing the separate option for adjusting the voltage independent of the setting for wattage. This is why the specs may show 3w or 5w up to 40w or 50watts 3.2v to 12v. Here's a few references some at vendors about Variable voltage vs Variable wattage to look over.

Variable Voltage (VV) vs Variable Wattage (VW) Vaping Devices

Understanding Variable Voltage/ Wattage Electronic Cigarettes

This next one is referred to as a Safe Vaping Voltage, Watts, and Resistance Chart you will want to get familiar with as it applied to Ohm's Law. Basic Ohm's Law

With many of the older style tanks and clearomizers keeping an eye on where you are and what the ranges are for the resistance of the coil or atomizer are can save you from burning something out. I had that happen on a Vamo V2 when discovering why a clearomizer was no longer working. The wattage setting went down from 3w to 15w! since those will do a complete 180 while other mods will work upwards only from the lowest 3w, 5w, or 7w like the MVP sees to the highest settings. For an easy calculation there's an online Ohm's Law Calculator that will simplify things.

Here;s another plus to start off the holiday with! E-cigarettes reduce tobacco cravings and help people quit smoking, study finds

When looking at that chart, I use what is considered to high voltage. I use dual coils, so that splits it up does it not? So if it states 3.9v's for a 1.8ohm I can actually double that?

The vaping charts still seen at this time are now a bit outdated depending on what you use for hardwares. The thing I like here about APVs where you can keep the volts down when raising the watts is to not end up burning something out. And one main problem too often is no maximums are specified since a half ohm coil now seen runs best between 30w and 50w.

A 0.5ohm coil for the new Atlantis tank handles 50w 10v while a Nautilus 1.6ohm gets hot at 15w 6.26v. Both tanks run dual vertical coils but are rated differently from older stuff like the 2ohm coils in a Smok Tumbler getting hot before hitting 12w. Most of the sub ohming so far is being seen on RDAs that are made to handle loads other atomizers simply can't since they are designed for certain applications.

The idea of increments is to take your time when starting out slowly until you find the "Sweet Spot" when turning something up as far as where the best vapor and taste meets approval. I suspect the coils for the Atlantis may reach 12v without issue but with the new stuff coming out at this time. What dual coils are like is having twin 10amp fuses in parallel to each other than can handle 20amps by dividing current not voltage.

The best thing you can do presently is take things one small step at a time not rushing where you end up cooking something. If your mod allows you to adjust the voltage separately then bumping up a tenth of a volt at a time to see how things go would be much better then simply cranking things all the way on the first try! Watts on the small stuff goes up in .5w increments while the larger 30w, 50w, 70w, 100w, God Mod 180w, and 260w mods all stick with the 1w increment since most will be using a rebuildable that will take the heat as well as the higher amperage seen with 12v and above on these newer mods.

Here running mostly with Tumblers for the last year coming into them in Oct. 2013 when looking into new tanks back then I tried those out on a 4.8v Vision Spinner as well as the eGo-C Twists along with the MVP 7w-12w mod, iTaste VV v3,0s, Smok ACEs 3.2v-5v, Vamos before passing the V2 along that 3.3v 3-15w same being seen with the Smok Groove II with the Tumbler left at 3.8v 7w or sometime 8 or 10w with certain flavors without raising the volts.

That of course changes now with the Vamo V6 and Eleaf iSticks both being Variable Wattage devices only seeing the voltage go up when the watts are increased and leaving me stuck often at 5w where the iStick shows 3.1v when trying to find the best spot on that mod. The V6 still stays at 7w however despite the volts going up due to that not seeing a sealed battery with a different amperage. Yes that plays a more important role behind the scenes you to figure out by math calculation once you find that sweet spot to know why you can have it here on one but not on the other.

When using the mods with the permanent sealed batteries over those that run with the replaceable rechargeables like 18650s, 18350s, 18500s, 26650s the effect at the same wattage and voltage settings when seeing both separated will be slightly different. When moving a tank from the VV/VW type battery onto a Vamo or one of the other mods a change is noticed in how things vape at times.

The charts and the guides explain the theories but not the actual real world results for each person with constantly changing hardwares. The best advice anyone can you there is to find those sweet spots where you see the best results according to your own personal satisfaction. Unfortunately the main obsticle seen with vaping gear is it not being like other technologies as far as the replacement parts(tanks, coils, etc.) go while the batteries and mods usually provide a bit more. The latest now show the minimum resistance requirement.

Thank you. I found my spot I like, it varies but goes no higher than 12 watts. With my coil 1.8 ohms that equals about 4.65 volts. The charts list that in red so I was concerned.

I'm really enjoying vaping, and looking at all the options available.

I was curious about that too, that seems to be a common sweet spot yet it does show in the red.

I finally drank the kool aid and ordered an iStick and a Nautilus Mini with the 1.8 ohm coils.

You can only adjust the wattage on my new IPV V2. I am currently vaping at 35 watts and it shows the voltage at 4.5v. This is obviously with the Atlantis tank with the 0.5ohm coil.

Thanks Paul, seems to be a popular combination. I had to buy them separately but there was a black friday deal with both as a kit but it sold out quick at $45.

Black Friday 20W Eleaf iStick + nautils mini - $44.99 | DFWvapor.com, The Best US E-Liquid Made!

I got the iStick full kit with charger for $35 and the Nautilus Mini for $23 with two packs of coils it came to $79, that's what the Inferno starter kit was.

For those of you who grab the Eleaf iStick there's something you will want to see if you plan on walking around carrying it in your pocket with a tank or clearomizer attached! Without the right protection that's a definite no no! First have a look at a broken eGo-T 650 I had in my pocket while simply going into the kitchen for refill on the java!

When pulling it out once I was back at the pc...:sick: found the connector was pulled out entirely and then the two wires lead and ground snapped on me. I was a little irritated at the time. The compact size of the iStick is also another possible disaster in the waiting and why I was fortunate enough to find a working solution that was a surprise when not even expecting it! That would be the folding bracket now on both of the iSticks here only seen at one or two vendors so far. Eleaf iStick Bending Adapter

Speaking about the full size 5ml Nautilus I had the first running on the iStick the day both the first of five tanks and the second iStick arrived from a second vendor since the first was sold out. A bit awkward to carry around that way! :D

Since we bypassed each other I got both my iStick at tow separate vendors grabbing the second from the second place while the first was out of stock when going back for the second! Don't need to pay out more then $35-$36 for it if you shop a little!

Try smartvapes Our Price: $34.68
or at evape.us Special Price $34.99

Both provide the ac wall plug and usb charging cord while smartvapes stocks the gift box while evape.us had the separate battery box and simply tossed in the two items to make the set complete likely sold out of the battery alone option some vendors see for like $29-! Ran into a few of those.

When going back to the third vendor who had the factory promotional deal without any mention only buy one get two which is buy one tank and get two additional coils on a promo card along with the glass replacement section compared to every other vendor with one spare coil and the beauty ring only. When going back and ordering two more of them the vendor then listed the tank for $44.95 not the sale of $27.99! I just made it! :D

Speaking of Black Friday and Cyber week I;ve been grabbing other deals to top all that off including a wood body epipe mech mod, the Dovpo E-LVT 30watter to go with the BEC Pro 50w APV with two more Atlantis tanks on the way. Plus a wireless/usb printer/copier/scanner after finding lazer printers a bit too pricey to maintain with toner cartridges running over $200!

That bending adapter looks pretty cool, does that latch or lock in the upright position?

Looks like a necessity and a thread saver.
