I believe somewhere along the line you have to ask yourself,
Are you vaping more or less than you were smoking
Costs and health are a good enough reason to vapor but is the habit just switching to something your doing more ?
When I smoke I smoke the same thing they were not flavored....
I have to go back to what John said a while back,
Not a quoteDoes vaporing just morph into a wild hobby "healthier hobby" which by the way the jury is still out on that one there's not enough history there,
I still have the same smoking intervals albeit now replaced with vaporing instead.
Mike, to me, I think it depends on the attitude you approach Vaping with. Some people do see it as a 'healthier hobby' and really like vaping, and if they get off of cigarettes and lower the nicotine level to 0, would continue vaping, just because they enjoy it. The other extreme I think, are people like me. I'm not all that enthused about Vaping and see it as a means to an end. If I could use it to get off of cigarettes, which I haven't done, then get down to 0 mg in the juice, I would not vape any more. It will have served it's purpose. Then there are all sorts in between those two extremes.
So, I really think it depends on the individual. Right now, I haven't quit cigarettes. I have made what I consider a great improvement. I have gone from smoking 3 packs a day down to 1 pack max, but usually less than 1 pack. But that's not what I want. At this time vaping is pretty much to help me put off the time between cigarettes. But, I want off completely, and hope to accomplish that. As soon as I can do that, I plan to drop the strength of Nicotine in the juice and try to get down to 0, at which time I will quit vaping too. That's my attitude about it, which I admit may change in time. Others feel much different about Vaping, which is fine. I agree the Jury is still out on the long term effects of vaping, but I think that no matter what they are, they have to be better than putting all the carcinogens in your system constantly. But, again, that's just me. Everyone has his/her opinion of Vaping, that's just mine. I don't begrudge anyone if they feel different about it. We all have our opinions and attitudes on it and most of us probably look at it different. And I suspect most see it different than I do, which is fine.
