Thanks Paul.

Did you get the Kanger Protank 2 or the Kanger Protank 3 v2. What's the diff?

What kind of resistance is best for the coils? 1.5ohm - I have no idea.

Anyone get the vaper tonged thing?

I'm pretty sure I have it all the time Doug, even switching up juices and trying to drink more water to keep from getting dehydrated.

I can't say I've noticed a big smell or taste difference yet myself.

@Paul, that's a nice kit you got there, good price too.

Usually only when you receive them would it be good to shake them up real well.
Never know how long they were sitting on a shelf

The kit you ended up with is a bargain since I paid $42.95US at the vendor that had them in stock since most still don't have the V6 and want quite a bit more for the V5s still. A few others had the V7 and V8 models however but were a bit pricey. The prices are for the body with the 18650 battery tube included nothing else however. That still is a buy for you there! Paul don't knock it! :D

When speaking of the mini size eGo 350mah batteries I just got in the newsletter for one vendor having a 10% off Halloween special being typical and spotted a complete kit for those that includes a similar clearomizer ilke the Smok FBC but another model by the same called the Aro I had already ordered separately and found good for the small size.
Smok Mini EGo Express Kit

Something like that is good for quick jonts to a store or for someone new or simply doesn't vape as a sort of stocking stuffer while I had just ordered a pair of eGo CE5 1100 kits each with two batteries, two clearos, the ac wall plug and usb adapter. This one includes a needle bottle which is handy to have if you don't have one already. Actually I have about 4 or 5 plus a real good one being the Innokin 10ml stainless steel U Can you carry with you that has a cover as well over the usual plastic bottle with needle tip. These are handy for filling awkward tanks and clearomizers for sure. Innokin Ucan Stainless Steel E-Liquid Bottle

As for the dry tongue situation I mentioned earlier about that in the thread that PG has a tendency to dry you right out and why having either a glass of water or another beverage with you when going to vape a lot will be a big help! Plus not every puff regardless of tank, battery, mod, ohms, watts, volts, etc. will be the exact same all the time! If you go back for a second puff too soon sometime there either won't be enough ejuice in the coil or atomizer or you may have a dry wicking event for the top or vertical coiled clearomizer or tank in use.

I've run into that quite often until I start getting into better tanks namely the bottom coiled clearomizer type and lately the BDCs which are dual coiled. With most tanks when going to order them separately SIW you can look to see if the vendor carries replacement coils, atomizers in various ohms. Depending on individual preferences you often end up going by the flavors as well as source of e-liquids you vape as well as how you are set up. Here I run with 2ohm coils in the Tumblers for example while many vendors only carry them with the 2.4 with the 1.8ohm option in their replacements.

On the Vapors Tongue thing, looks like the its been resolved.
We discussed it a bit here, but as a recap from what Ive experienced personally and info we gathered collectively through the thread:

It happens the most when you are first switching. It seems what causes it is your sense of taste returning and getting overwhelmed or "burned out". Its not really your taste buds though.
Its also rather common.

It used to happen to me all the time. What helped me alot, was a flavor rotation.
I try to have 3 different flavors. But at least 2 throughout the day.

In regards to these flavors, try to make them drastically different from each other. If you vape a fruity type flavor often, lets just say Strawberries and Cream, then a second flavor ideally should have no strawberry or cream notes in it.A tobacco, menthol, cinnamon or other bakery type flavor would do the trick. Just make sure they are very different from each other.

If for example you vape Deadly Sin all day long and get the vapor tongue. Switching to something like Cinnamon danish may be effected as well due to the bakery cinnamon notes.

Drink LOTS of water when vaping. Believe it or not this helps too.

If you have 2 tanks set uop with drastically different flavors, swithching off will help. You'll likely be able to go back to the other flavor after 30 minutes or so, maybe an hour and all will be well again.

And, one other little thing that I read about that does help a bit. Don't laugh!
When it happens, take big deep breath of some fresh coffee grounds!! Not used, but fresh. It kinda shocks your sense of smell/taste back into action. Weird, but does work.

As time goes on,. it will happen less and less. I'm finding it hardly ever happens anymore to me, unless I've been on a single flavor for a really long time.

And always shake your juice well. it does help.

@SIW
The Ohms on the coil will be mostly what range the unit recommends you stay in.
In short:
The lower the Ohms, the quicker the coil heats up, and the more battery power it uses.
The higher the Ohms, the longer it takes the coil to heat up but uses less battery power.

I think lower Ohm coils burn hotter too. But It may just be that they heat up a lot faster. I find at 1.2-1.3 theres little heat up time. Closer to 2 Ohm I find I take a quick primer puff to heat things up real good.

Which is better is ultimately a personal thing.
I know guys who what sub Ohm and guys who actually prefer very high Ohms and lots of power. (3 Ohm builds)

1.5Ohm is, IMHO, a really good spot. Fairly quick heat up time with good battery life. Just try a few in different ranges and you'll find what suits you in no time. We will all offer different advice on whats best here.
It may also make a difference if the head is a single coil or dual coil. Dual coils burn hotter, and you may find something like 1.8 or 2.0 is better for those. Or you may find you love a hot vape and want 1.5 or lower for them. I like a warm to hot vape myself.

The resistance should be where your preferences are for the most part. You can have the exact same tanks as the next person but they want 2.8 if not 1.8ohm or lower depending on what flavor they are vaping regularly. For me tank design has a being as well as where the voltage and wattage is set. For a few I turn it up to get where I want to with 2ohm coils in Tumbler tanks for example while another flavor I ended up taking the tank off anythings variable to use on a basic tube mod running at 3.7v 4w instead.

With some tanks the 1.8ohm will put and give you the best flavor as well. With the next tank 1.5 works out best and is what comes preinstalled on the tank. For Tumblers many vendors sell them with 2.4 while more are now carrying them with 2ohm instead due to how that tank works. The higher resistance from the 2ohm called HR or standard tends to vape warmer taking the extra time to heat up when compared to a 1.8ohm coil on the same tank where the vapor increases but the flavor drops a bit.

As for BDC tanks those that have dual coils I swapped out the 1.8 on a couple of tanks and regretted it when putting in the 2ohm i ordered separately! The taste got a bit warmer despite the slightly higher resistance since often these coils can be used on multiple tanks even by other brands where this can be a problem at times!

Some Kanger coils for certain models will work on Smok tanks and some Smok coils will work on Kanger. Not too many however but the individual tank design varies as well as vaper preferences being the other factor. This is why when I recommend a certain tank to someone I also let them where a good place to get replacement coils can be found since what comes with the tank may not be what they need. Turning volts and watts up of course will not only go through battery life a little sooner but also go through the flavor you have it the tank.

I've actually noticed in building my own how many factors come into play with flavor/vapor etc.

For example, dual vs single coil and the wire used.

On a single coil build, 28g seems provide and much more satisfying vape, more flavor, vs the same coil/resistance built with 32g.
But a 32g twist is better than 28g, But needs a tad more voltage vs a single 28g build to perform well.

And while this may not matter to those who do not build their own, I think it may be the reason some heads that seem identical (both being 1.5Ohm) perform differently.
There are just so many variables. Voltage, Tank used, wire/wick combo, Nic Strength, PG/VG ratio, flavor .... so many things.

I just got this months Zamplebox. 5 of the 6 were great flavors and only 1 Im on the fence about. I've tried them all in then dripper, but only one in the Kayfun so far
This month I got:

*Sunburst by Victory (had this before, its very good so Im kinda happy to see it again)

*Apple All Day by Victory (quite good and Ill vape this one even though Im not the biggest apple fan. A light apple flavor)

*Blind Date by Mad Mike (Quite good. this is the 3rd Mad Mike flavor Ive got and they've all been good)

*Honey Dew by Smoke N Mist (I'll vape this one too. Not bad at all. Probably not something Id buy though)

*Krunk Tea by Vape Science (I like this one! Just not sure what it tastes like yet. Ill try this one next in the Kayfun. The kayfun typically gives better flavor than my dripper so it may make a difference)

*Dharma by Seduce Juice (This one Im on the fence about and vaping it now. Its supposed to be a Thai iced tea flavor. But Im getting a very subtle chocolate. I'll finish off this tank and see where it goes. Sometimes a flavor can grow on you. Its not that its bad. Its just that I just can't decide if I like it or not if that makes sense)

Overall, good box this month. Pretty happy!

I know some other people who work with the RDAs on a regular basis but tend to stick with either the fruit punch or tobacco flavors for the most part. Some of them go much further into sub ohming while most are staying above the 1ohm mark as a rule keeping things a little more down to earth there.

Here by mostly using one brand and model tank I am able to make some rather interesting observations when either turning up or down the volts or watts, or simply moving the same tank from battery to mod all set at 7w to see the results. Some seem to vape better on one of the Vamos(V5 and now V6 previously V2), MVP2.0, VTR all running 18650s with the VTR now running a flat top high drain when finally located! No one had flat top anything which the VTR takes.

I have my own primary flavors out of several by multiple vendors like a tobacco/menthol(Pioneer - CCV), a strawberry/watermelon(Melon Twist - CCV), another menthol/tobacco(Madvapes and EcigCharleston both) which is light on the menthol, Carmel Cappucino(Caramel Cap-CCV), a mocha/coffee type blend(Mocha Java-CCV), Chocolate/Tobacco for a switch! :D(Vertigo - CCV) and several others since I sample everything from that vendor(CCV = Crystal Canyon Vapes). Others like Strawberry Cheesecake(Mom&Pop Vape Shop) and Peanut Butter(Nettmix) and one you can no longer get while they still have the Fudge brownie was the Chocolate Peanut Butter Brownie they did away with without any notice of disconinuation only seeing the "notify me" on the page.(sweet-vapes)

Now when you mentioned having two batteries or other set up to have more then one flavor ready try about two dozen here! Each and every battery including some non variables has a different flavor or a mix up except a few with the primary menthol(Pioneer) I keep going in case of an allergy attack! But one word of caution when having more then one sitting around in a tank too long is running into a kind of flavorless or bad throat hit(hot in back of throat) problem!

Here with too many flavors collected over time but not used up fast plus new ones coming out or found I am now vaping off what is in the tanks and setting each one aside until I catch up! I have spells where either I dust off a tank in about a day's time or only get about 1/8th vaped when having 3 or 4 going at the same time.

Well that's a good thing isn't it?! ;) Here I had heard the term back when W7 was the brand new thing we were all looking at and thought to myself that might be something to look into but no info available. Later I got into a discussion where someone mentioned smokeless and I had to pause again being slightly skeptical since that was a year in 2010.

And then came the one chat with someone else who just in the quit smoking stage while I had already back by the end of August '12 and then friend mentioned seeing disposables at a local gas station. That was the first step! And now here I am right about 24 months of vaping and after the first six months smoke free!

The key is simply put as "Determination"! If you set on quitting you'll do it when especially when you get to the point where you say "No More!" and have gotten past all of the urges and no longer have to worry about falling backward into the same old rut you were in! Vaping helps even more by changing the experience as well as pattern of habits! It can be a giant wedge you jam in there between you and smoke! Work with it! :D

Thanks Paul.

Did you get the Kanger Protank 2 or the Kanger Protank 3 v2. What's the diff?

What kind of resistance is best for the coils? 1.5ohm - I have no idea.

The reason I gave the Protank 2 a mention is because it was one of the free included in the deal ones and I don't think it's a bad tank.

Personally I paid some extra and went for the Aspire Nautilus. For a couple of reasons. Firstly I already own an Aspire Nautilus Mini which is a great tank and I wanted to try the full size version. Also I can use the same coils in both without having to order different ones for 2 different tanks.

Personally I like 1.8Ohm BVC Coils which is what I use in both my Nautilus tanks.

It all depends if you want to go for a free "included" tank or don't mind spending the extra. I don't really know much about any of the tanks in the drop down list other than the Aspire Nautilus and Aspire Nautilus Mini. I would certainly recommend the Nautilus Mini but obviously that adds £10 to the overall cost. These are the replacement coils just in case - Aspire BVC Coil Head - Accessories

I would imagine all of the free tanks would be just fine as a starting point, but like I said before just make sure you know what replacement coils you need to get for when the time comes.

Paul.

I quit cold turkey once for 8 months and still fell back into the former habit. At other times I went without for months and still found it easy to pick up again. The stretch of three weeks is a good start mind you but determination to accomplish the goal as well as resisting that awfully familiar temptation will be the real battle!

I know from experience here already about that little tweety bird in the back of your mind that hints: "wouldn't you just like to light one up? it won't hurt!" That's when you pull out a tennis racket and smack it around the court!:geek:

I quit 2 or 3 times for 1 or 2 months over the last 10 years or so (cold turkey too), it was really hard and a total battle, obviously I gave in both times in the end.
I also had a bad time around 10 days back where I was very close to having a cigarette. I couldn't get it out of my head for a few hours. I switched juice and thankfully after a while I was alright again. Been fine since touch wood.
