How high do you crank them up Mike? I'm usually in the 11W to 13W range.

At the moment I'm at 3.9 and 9.0 I forget which is which
Inferno soaks up way less juice can't remember what it uses either lol

Are you using the Inferno by Volcano? INFERNO BC TubeTank

When you turn up the volts or watts you will tend to go through ejuice a bit faster.

Yeah, on a fully charged battery the Inferno is about 7.6W so that makes sense.

Yep I believe it's a 1.8 coil on the yes volcano inferno juice goes allot further on it than the nautilus same 1.8 but I imagine cranked allot more than the inferno is capable of.
I did learn you or at least I have to puff to prime it often the nautilus that is or really both to keep them from dry hitting and burning out the coils.

There's a large difference between a clearomizer and a tank like the Nautilus. A typical clearomizer won't see anywhere near the same level of vapor as a good tank will even when the wattage is bumped a bit on the clearomizer! I've seen that enough with a variety of clearomizers and tanks. As for the 3.9 and 9.0 that would be 3.9v if you are seeing that on an lcd display and 9w. But don't get fooled. The actual output will vary when placing a passthrough ohm and power type meter inline.

Let me know what you think Derek. I might try some stronger nic just to see in the new tank. I just refilled with another juice in the new tank. I'm quite impressed, it is a smores flavor that took a while to come alive in the Nautilus. It really came alive in the new tank. I'm more of a flavor chaser vs clouds, and this new tank it packs a lot of flavor. You will see I'm sure when you try the Atlantis I think. Good luck and vape on

OK, I probably should have started with something other than 80/20 PG/VG, I was getting no vapor so I switched to some 50/50 Deadly Sin and it's a little better.

It's different, I'll say that, I'm not a lung hitter so I may not be getting the most out of it but I'll keep playing with it for a bit, I'm at 25W right now but the 18mg nic isn't really bothering me so far.

Yea, sadly that the case most of the time. You just have to choose what best suits you.

I would say though, that while typical clear-o-mizer may not have the best vapor production, or hold as much juice vs a tank, many times they tend to produce a bit better flavor.
Granted, this is not always the case, just a 'in general" conclusion.

There are always plus and minuses to any set up. So whats "best" really is a personal thing.

But that gap between the two is closing with newer better tanks/rtas so youre getting the best of both.


Fortunately, the prices are coming down a great deal to on some the higher end devices.



Personally, I don't to 80VG blends for a daily vape. It tends to be smoother, thicker clouds etc, but also a thicker juice.
but, flavors are so different with different blends/nic strengths it varies.

I find 50/50 is the best all around. Its what I mix most of my juices at and occasionally 40vg/60opg.

Yeah, I think that was why I took so long to give this Atlantis a try, I am fine with the Nautilus and recently the GS Air tanks.

I can see why it's so easy for some to just keep looking for a little better, I just don't want to keep buying hardware if what I have is working.

The Atlantis was a freebie so I thought I'd give it a try.

I think I am getting a little lightheaded off the 18mg nic now.

I've been mostly using 80PG except for the Deadly Sin. I tried some free juice that was higher VG and it was making my chest tight, I didn't like that.

For those just starting off and those that simply look more for flavor 70/30 is the norm. For clearomizers the top coiled CE2-4 long wicked 1.6ml have always been problematic with dry hits unless you kept turning them upside down and turning them to keep the upper portion saturated when not having a full tank section. And once you had a good dry hit the wicks would show the brown spots from the burns.

The recent farse about formaldehyde was simply the nonsense of taking one of the older top coiled clearomizers and cranking things up higher then anyone would normally see just to intentionally burn the wick material so they could say: "see see there's..."! With the latest CE5 clearomizers on the other hand those are bottom coil and some wickless which should be seeing a smoother vape while I took one of those a vendor tossed in on an order and you could hardly get anything out of it.

At the same not all tanks are rosey either! The first DCT tanks were nothing but a disaster of leaks and soon dead cartimizers. They weren't well liked on the first Vamo V2 either! The second of those had a stainless threaded locking ring to keep the tank from leaking which it still did. Then the first VVV/VW mod to follow was the MVP2.0 having just bought the IClear 30, Vision Victory, and SMOK Trophy tanks to try out when getting away from the top coiled. All three failed while none leaked at putting out anything adequate for vapor. There was a serious lack of air flow. Then the second IClear 30 that came in the MVP2.0 kit went along with the first plus the other two to a friend's daughter being introduced to vaping to keep her from a smoking habit. By then some people were raving about the Viva Nova and Tumbler tanks Smoktech put out and I found that the Tumbler was going to work well for the under 10w crowd.

Yes it is different Derek. I find I like the Melo at 22watts. I bump it up occasionally just to experiment. I keep another flavor in the Nautilus and rotate back and forth. I also use the smallest air hole setting, just the opposite with the Nautilus. The air ring on the melo is really tight. I have to use both hands to adjust it.

I find the air hole I like best is 1 down from the largest,
Yea I assumed the symbol "P" was ohm not sure why they used a P though but 3.9 looks more like a U than a V

How long do your coils last for the Nautilus Mike? I get about a week on each one, then the flavor starts to fall off.

I just started doing the extra puff priming to force bubbles to exit the coil,
This one is on a week now and still going strong,
Flavors I wouldn't know I'm using a raspberry but with no boost so it's a slight taste already so it's easily missed after first using the juice,
I'll get back to you on this coil but it has promise some I only got a couple days out of them seems coil quality might be another issue ?
But I ultimately believe I was just burning them up by not priming them with extra puffs

No problem,
When I first got the tank the coil did last 2 weeks,
But that was using the default settings for the itaste 3.3 V and 6 watts
Dropping the nic I had to crank it up to get the throat hit Derek mentions is needed for me too I believe Paul says the same
Without priming it just burned them up

I have the Atlantis on the smallest opening too, Nautilus is usually wide open or the next one down.

I don't see myself dumping the Nautilus but I'll keep playing with this Atlantis a bit more.

The "P" is for Power which is measured in Watts. It is a "U" but it is the Voltage button, I guess they didn't like "V" or thought it would be misinterpreted for something else, maybe a down button?

I only have to prime a new coil myself, dry puffs and start on low volts/watts then increase to my sweet spot.

That's a good average for me too Doug, about a week or 10 days if I stretch it. If I am using higher watts they don't last as long for me.
