anyone tried tuneup utilities 2010 ?

Disable Live Optimization. That thing sucks, it will only work if you have lots of works to do at the same time. Plus, the computer loads (at least mine) 10 secs slower with it turned on.

How to disable Live Optimization? Don't see an option for that.

Its almost perfect for me but it has a huuge factor that turns it all to be better off my system..and its performance, it is annoying to change from app to another app because of the delay made by live optimization..i think it adds more load to the cpu other than my daily task(e.g. games, media center) which is not good for my pc(intel celeron based chipset)

I think unchecking increase response rate and speed startup blah blah in the live configuration will do it.

Thanks superjose.

Yeah, I knew about DevianArt. I was just hoping TU 2010 would have a themes module that was compatible with Win 7 and some themes that didn't require patching. Thanks again for the input though.

I just started using the trial version last night, I too think its missing some features from the past version. I remember being able to customize this bar (pic below)

I turned off live Op. with the icon next to the clock. just left click and you should be able to figure it out from there.

I think I will wait and see if they add new features for 7 as time goes on.

Has anyone used the registry cleaner of this program without any issue? It is safe to run it "blind mode" (without paying atention at the results)?

Thanx for the answers!

I haven't experienced any type of troubles with the reg cleaner that is built in. And if you would run into any troubles from it just go to the rescue center in TU2010 and restore it from there. It always makes back ups when doing reg adjustments.

I am using Win XP, and i hope that the same method can be applied in win7, for disabling TuneUp Utilities from startup. I entered in RUN msconfig, and under SERVICES found 3 things related to TuneUP, and disabled them all. Then it doesn't start up no more. I hope that there is a similar method for Win7. Hope this helped you.

Are you using SP1 Beta? Or have you cracked Win7? I know this because it happens when I installed the SP1 Beta and restart it. The disk was checked for errors, and for the first time I've ever seen it was fixing something... I needed to reformat my computer after that, I didn't have system restore.

Oh Well (It didn't hurt, I already formatted it myself the day before, so no info was lost); it kept rebooting after boot screen, so what I recommend is that you do not use Check for Disk Errors launched from the TuneUp Utilities since it is not yet supported, otherwise it has done a great job.

problem disabling tune up utilities at startup?

Hello,
ı have just discovered a software for cleaning out the virus. it seemed it offered a second job which comes from its natural processing while it scans for virus. it disables the tune up utilities also. ı found that great job. the desadvantage is you must operating it every time you dont want tune up utilities to enable when you use your PC. But it depends on from which side you look at this. altough you must operate this process everytime, it lets you to incitate check your PC!!
Before operate this software, you should branch all your devices e.g. USB, external HD to your pc. It does even not take more than 2 minutes to finish operating. Enjoy it!!!

After double clicking the exe file which is below, you select deletion.

Forgot to tell you something. Are you sure you have "Show TuneUp icon in certain cases", in the notification area? If not that's your problem:

Go to Start Center, then click "all functions" on "Increase Performance", click then "Configure Live Optimization", and be sure, that below "Show TuneUp icon" is checked "only in certain cases" otherwise it will always appear, even if you do registry tweaks and disable it from startup.
It is not the icon I am worried about. I would like THE WHOLE PROGRAM to not start with windows. I just got back another reply from Tune-Up Support and they claim it cannot be done yet:

Dear Customer,

thank you for your inquiry.

This is not possible at this time. We are working on a solution to be
distributed via update.
